I am here to introduce Bangladesh
Youth Movement for
Climate (BYMC), one of the very few youth organizations in Bangladesh working solely on climate change related issues.
This year we are sending two delegates from our team to represent Bangladeshi youth in United Nation Climate Change Conference COP 18 at Doha, Qatar and they are:
This year has been quite a packed one for us, and we have successfully conducted a four-day South
Asian Training for Trainers (T4T) workshop in collaboration with
350.org, in Dhaka. The workshop housed 25 young climate activists from 7 countries in South Asia. The photos and details can be found here:
We have also
conducted a
2-day national Climate Leadership Training workshop
following T4T, which brought together 20 participants from different parts of the country in Dhaka. The photos and details can be found here:
Lastly, on 18th October, we organized a pre-COP action titled, "Dhaka to Doha: Raising Youth's Voices Against Climate Change" with more than 60 young activists in Dhaka to push the Bangladeshi negotiators for urgency in the negotiations and also, to put forward the youth's expectations in the form of a demand text (attached herewith).
