The Aao Wish Karein Man is a 2009 Bollywood fantasy comedy film starring Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna Sharif and Rati Agnihotri. The film is about a 22-year-old man who wishes to be a child again and gets his wish granted by a fairy. He then falls in love with his childhood friend who is now a teacher.
The Aao Wish Karein Man is based on the Hollywood film Big (1988) starring Tom Hanks. The film also has some similarities with the Bollywood film Mr. India (1987) starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. The film's title is derived from the Hindi phrase "Aao Wish Karein" which means "Let's make a wish".
The film's story revolves around Mickey (Shivdasani), a 22-year-old man who is unhappy with his life. He works as a voice-over artist for a children's show and is in love with his childhood friend Mitika (Sharif), who is now a teacher. However, Mitika is engaged to Ranbir (Rakesh Bapat), a rich and arrogant businessman. Mickey feels that he has missed his chance to be with Mitika and wishes to be a child again.
His wish is granted by a fairy (Deshmukh) who appears in the form of a shooting star. Mickey wakes up the next day as a 12-year-old boy and runs away from home. He meets a magician (Lever) who helps him get enrolled in Mitika's school. Mickey befriends Mitika and tries to win her heart as a child. He also tries to sabotage Ranbir's plans to marry Mitika.
However, Mickey soon realizes that being a child is not as easy as he thought. He faces several challenges and difficulties in his new life. He also misses his family and friends who are worried about him. He learns some valuable lessons about life, love and happiness. He also discovers the true identity of the fairy and the reason behind his wish.
The film narrates the tale of Mickey (Aftab) a 12 year old kid. He is left heartbroken on realizing he is an adopted child and that the girl he fancies as his angel, the 23 year old Mitika (Aamna) calls him a 'Kid'. Cajoled by the local street side clown Hitchcock (Johnny Lever), Mickey wishes for a miracle. Voila it takes place and the next morning when he gets up he turns into a young man! Mickey first has a hard time convincing his best buddy Bonnie that it is no one else but him himself. The best thing about getting older so quick for Mickey is that he gets a chance to come closer to his big crush Mitika. He tries to impress her and she eventually falls in love with him. But things get further complicated as she gets ready to marry him. What happens next forms the rest part of the film.
