toughest problems? Then you're in the right place...

The Imagine Cup is a worldwide competition that is being held annually
since 2003. Every year there is a specific theme to the competition and
for the 2006 edition the theme is:

Imagine a world where technology enables us to live healthier lives

Imagine Cup 2006 saw over 60,000 students from over 100 countries
registering for the six competition categories - Software Design,
Short Film, Algorithm, Interface Designer, Information Technology and
Project Hoshimi - Programming Battle. Imagine Cup 2006 is special for
India because we shall be hosting the World Finals in the month of
August in Agra and Delhi.

The National Finals event shall bring together the top 12 Software
Design projects from all over India for an exhibition, judging and
final presentation. The National Champion shall represent India at the
World Finals at Agra and Delhi in August 2006.

In addition to Imagine Cup national finals, Microsoft is also hosting
the National level Expo of the "Microsoft Academic Projects" which
was an initiative under which programming projects were offered to
Engineering and MCA students from all over India. These projects were
meant to give students a real-life project scenario, tracking and
deadlines just like the software industry and reviews from an industry
expert.

Over 7000 projects were registered as part of this program from 482
cities and towns all over India. The experts traveled to 9 different
cities for conducting face to face reviews. As a final step, we bring
together 20 of the finest projects from around the country at a grand
exhibition.

The Academic Projects Expo shall showcase the top 20 to students,
faculty and IT Industry professionals in order to gain valuable
feedback, compete for the best project prize and who knows - grab
some job offers that very day!!
