We are building a small bootstrapped services company, as an extension of freelancing working I have been doing in the past. For that, we are looking for ace web application programmers. We have several large challenging projects, small and fun loving team and clients who adore us. We do not have any bureaucracy, crazy work hours or corporate orientation programs.

If you are a top programmer, a team player and have good communication skills, we would love to hear from you. Of course, experience with web application development, MySQL, Ruby on Rails and Linux will get you a slight edge.

Benefits: Salary as per skills and experience, Laptop, health insurance and host of other benefits.

Location: Bangalore, India (we will help you relocate).

To apply: Send a 1 page resume listing academic qualifications, past companies and and projects worked on to akma...@8raystech.com. If your resume passes screening, you will likely face a couple of phone interviews and a programming test.

Please don't hesitate to contact me in case you have any questions or clarifications:

Phone: +91 99863 95538
Skype: akmags
Twitter: @akmags

Regards,
Amit Mathur.

p.s. Apologies for adding to the noise on the list

Knowing something is off-topic and still posting it is even worser. Dont pretend to be a courteous fuck*r and get things done. Rules are rules. Stay away you ass!! Thousands of so-called bootstrapped/fucked up/ fools/ who cant do anything for themselves, go around group by group, begging for some real talent.

Wait, are you the same junk/supervisor of a looser who got fired from the group for posting unrelated/ off-topic posts?

Fellas, he means, he's from a bootstrapped company=> No money , Wait, why do I say no money, He cant signup for Naukri/Monster and come through a proper channel. These Beggars, who dreams about hiring top class coders for peanuts and dream about making huge money end up in Ditch. Get a Real job. Being in bangalore, and You hearing few words from people around you doesnt make you a kick-ass IT Pro/Ent. I am sure, this amit mathur, is either a Lead-beggar or a subordinate beggar.

Hi Karthik,

I suggest you keep a tab on the words you use or I will BAN you out of the group….

For the Rest of the people in the Group,

Mr. Amit, has had a discussion with me regarding this Job posting before he did post this and since Mr. Amit is a person who has been contributing to the Knowledge base of the Group, we saw no harm in letting him post the Job Ad…

Also I would like to clarify… the following on who can put a Job advert.

1. Job posting can be done only by candidates who also contribute to Learning of the technology

2. A candidate should have first been with the group and interacted with people before they post the job

3. A candidate who joins only for job posting will be banned from the listing.

4. If you are contributing to the group and your company wants to put an job post then it has to be through you and not through other Job Email address

Hope this clarifies,

Thanks and Regards

Satish, Glad that you intervened in time before this thing got messy. I have seen it taking ugly turns in earlier groups. Thanks for nipping in the bud.

@Satish

Great work by your intervention

@Karthik

You should take it as someone's humbleness before speaking, Job postings have been a constantly controversial
issue for tech groups,but I feel if someone contributes to the tech aspects of the group why not hire from the community. The Ruby / Ruby on Rails usage and Quality talent is very very difficult to find, and these communities are where these people are accessible. Well, for you saying a nice Jingle for startups, you should try and understand the pains people go through, developing talent and when they leave the companies without contributing to their growth. Human Nature you would say, but it does impact someone's dreams.
And Finally being polite is not a scratch on your ego, we are all a community and we should have mutual respect for each other, even for things like this, we insist and not yell.

@Amit

Dont worry and ignore this "noise" :D and congratulations you decided to take your freelancing idea to a bigger level.

Cheers

Saurabh

Dear Satish,

I am sorry for venting out my anger. I will refrain from posting anything like that.

On a similar note, I have observed this group behaves very differently than the various other Ruby communities. We lack the basic modesty other communities have. On rails-talk and ruby-talk forums, I have seen people answering even the silly questions just to encourage others to use Ruby.

On rails-talk, I have seen a lot of Indian developers asking questions which they easily could have figured out using an Internet search engine. But they don't and thus as a whole, bring bad name to Indian developer community (and not to say, it affects our industry as well) Why don't they ask such questions here - because we scare them by giving them a 100 bullets list about rules and regulations of the community. Why dont we grow this community and help other Indian developers learn. I am not saying that we need to spoon-feed them, but at least we should try to teach them how to fish. One can always choose to ignore emails they are not interested in.

Similarly, why not start one more group exclusively for Ruby job posting. People looking for Ruby jobs can always join such groups. This will help us retain the focus.

Thanks,
Abhinav

PS: Karthik, it's always a good idea to check archives to find out more about the guy (Amit in this case) before sending such emails.

@Satish, @Mayank, @Saurabh, @Abhinav: Thanks for your support and good wishes.

Also, Satish's job positing policy is very sensible.

@Karthik: No problem. Of course you can apply.

Cheers,
Amit.

I agree with Abhinav. I am new to this group & perhaps a small do’s & don’ts, which teaches people like me how to fish will be a help.

Thanks

Sharath
