Description:
JavaScript – full application development with JavaScript. Includes understanding of the prototypal object model, dom access via JavaScript, dynamic loading and more.
Experience with a full JavaScript framework – Ideally ExtJS would be that framework, but if they have extensive experience with YUI, Dojo, JQuery/JQueryUI, Prototype or a suitable other all JavaScript framework that is acceptable. They can easily learn ExtJS if they have heavy experience with one of the others.
AJAX/Event Driven programming – experience with AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), in a cross-browser environment. Understanding JavaScript callbacks and event driven programming as it relates to AJAX driven web applications.
JSON – We don’t use XML. We use JSON as the transport format for our data and our APIs. They need to have lots of experience in reading/writing AJAX between a server and a web browser client, use of complex structures in JSON and an understanding of how JSON translates to JavaScript objects on the client side.

And it’s a BIG plus if they already know how to use the ExtJS JavaScript library. If they already know JavaScript well then learning the library itself is pretty trivial.

This person would be part of a team responsible for developing and supporting high traffic consumer websites, web content management, and digital asset management. You should have strong experience in Java-based web applications and consumer-oriented web technologies.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development and unit testing of new features, provide ongoing support to deliver the project to production, and post launch support.
Complete all aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning, technical design, construction, documentation, unit testing and deployment.
Communicate directly with internal business customers or partners, gathering requirements, providing project status updates, testing and working with the quality assurance team.
Provide technical leadership capabilities on team to propose and drive technical solutions.

Essential Skills:
Prior experience working for a high volume, high demand web based application

Proficient in Java /J2EE web application development (JSP, Servlets, Spring, Spring MVC, JPA, SQL and RDBM, Tomcat, JBoss, Ant, Maven, SVN or equivalent)
Experience in a Web Content Management products: Fry OCP or equivalent (ATG…)
Experience with Hibernate or other object-relational mapping framework(s).
Experience with one or more relational databases (Oracle preferred)
Strong knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML ,CSS, JavaScript, AJAX) including javascript libraries such as JQuery
Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with Digital Asset Management systems and digital workflow solutions
