Data Science Meets Data Technology September 15th, 2012 10:00 AM Onward Lecture Hall, NIAS Meeting 2: Analysing Social Networks    The Data Science Meets Data Technology events are an opportunity for scientists, technologists, industry professionals and civil society activists to meet and exchange ideas on data, modeling and analysis. The second DSDT meeting will be held at NIAS on September 15th. The theme for the September 15th meeting is Social Networks. We will be organizing three talks followed by an thinkathon where we will combine data and analysis for a range of social networks.  The meeting schedule is given below: 10:00 AM - 10: 30 AM:Tea.  10:30 AM - 11:15 AM: Prof. C. E. Veni Madhavan, Indian Institute of Science: Computational Problems in Networks. Talk 30 minutes, discussion 15 minutes.  11:15 AM - 12:00 PM: Dr. Rajesh Kasturirangan, NIAS: Network Theory and the Small World Effect. Talk 30 minutes, discussion 15 minutes.  12:00 PM - 12:45 PM: Dr. Girish Dalvi, Yahoo Research: Visualizing Social Networks. Talk 30 minutes, discussion 15 minutes.  12:45 PM - 2:00 PM. That's mislabeled. Its from the thinking with data class. Will change it. DSDT is still on the 15th.
