Just FYI, I saw a "opening shortly" sign for RR cycles on Mekhri -> Hebbal flyover road, very close to Mekhri circle.

Hi there,

I am newbie, about to buy a new bike. I have zeroed down to Schwinn Sporterra 2012. I am from Tata Institute (IISc) and RR cycles, Ganganagar is at a stone's throw.

Now I just wanted to know how's the reputation of the shop. Will it be a good idea to buy it from there? I read at BikeZone that some of the RR branches have a pretty bad name (http://www.bikeszone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10374). Having read some negative comments about RR cycles in general, regarding after sales service, i am a little concerned. Is the staff technically sound specially at Ganganagar branch? Do they stock spares? And how's the handling of various other issues which may crop up in general ?

I'll be greatfull to you if you can help me with this issue.

Regards

Abhishek

The service done was pretty good, I would say. I had been going to Ulsoor until now, Ganganagar did a better job than Ulsoor (maybe too early to conclude, but first impression matters). Ganganagar has space constraint and they are not open to have your bike at their place for more than a day.

Cost wise they (RR) is not v.flexible(they throw in a bit of discount here and there that's it) , Ganganagar is more stiff with cost.

Newbies, take my word...go for the bike you like and think about all after sales support, etc later. Start enjoying your rides...bike/cycle components are modular and mostly standardized that you can always find alternatives.

Happy biking,

BTW...anyone interested in regular weekend trips from Hebbal section to airport and beyond...ping me.

Regards,
Ganesh
