Hi,
My wife and I are going on a short holiday in Kodai. We are taking the train and are not able to transport our cycles.

I hear that the best way to explore Kodai is on cycles. It would be great if someone can help with:
  1. Place where we can rent decent bikes at Kodai (treks, meridas and the like)
  2. Biking trails in Kodai
  3. Any other useful information from cycling point of view
Thanks,
Manoj Bhat

Hello, Manoj,

Its a great idea. My wife and I did the same thing some 10 months ago. Once you reach Kodai, head straight down towards the Kodai lake and there u can find a lot of shops(not shops, a shed with cycles parked) who will rent cycles. They have all types of cycles (Ladies,MTBs etc  well..Dont expect Merida/Trek etc). They charged some 20 rs per hour (if I remember correctly).  I'd suggest you hire it for full day so that it works out cheaper.

And yes, you can explore the whole of Kodai on cycle.

Happy cycling @ Kodai,

Cheers!

Hi,
I had beeen to to Kodai 2 months ago..It was raining then there(I
don know how its going to be in monsoon!!)
You can rent bikes around Kodai lake, you can find the bi-cycle of
your choice. The only flat trail is around the periphery of the
Lake(2-3kms) other wise its all steep climb.Well i guess only advanced
riders can make it. I could not take on to cycling cos my wife not
very keen(am not a very advanced rider too).s
Enjoy the stay.

Cheers
