Hi all,

I am looking for a brand new tube for my Trek 4300 (2010 model). There is big confusion regarding the right tube.

I had bought this bike last november from Firefox bike station (opp Forum). I have found that this cycle came with Bontrager tyre but the tube inside was Kenda (26 x 1.9/2.125). The tube had ruptured near the valve hence was looking for a replacement. When I took this tube to the firefox bike station where I purchased it, the technical guy took the tube saying the he will check if something can be done. After few days when I went to collect the tube he returned a tube informing me that nothing can be done. The tube he returned was that of Bontrager and not Kenda. When I questioned him, he tried to fool me that Trek 4300 doesn't come with Kenda tube and the one that he gave me was the right tube. Last night I opened that other tyre of my bike to check the make of the tube and found that it was Kenda. I am sure this guy is hiding something.

Does the Trek 4300 (2010 model) come with Kenda tubes by default? Were they changed while assembling the bike?

I know I need a new tube but I am now confused between three tyres.

Which is the right spec? Is Kenda tube better than Bontrager tube?

Kenda 26 x 1.9/2.125 (Originally came with my bike).
Bontrager 26 1.75/2.125
Bontrager 26 x 1.95/2.125

Any directions of where these are available will be of great help.

Regards,
Jeevan

i have a trek 4300 2010 model too. but am too lazy to check what tubes i have rt now..... but all of the tubes u listed there will work for you just fine.

For my previous hybrid which needed 700X23/25c tubes, the kenda ones lasted me longer than the bontrager ones.... But, others i know prefer bontrager

Thank you.

Just to understand spec I checked the tire size and it is 26 - 2.0.

The tube of size '26 - 1.9/2.125' fits properly since it supports tires of size 1.9 to 2.125 inch thickness.

I was just wondering if the Kenda tube was the default tube in 2010 model.

Checked with Trek Country distributors.. They r not specific with the
brand of tube that is being used.. They come assembled and it is based
on availability hence u may see Bontrager Tyer + Bontrager Tube or
Bontrager Tyer + Kenda tube both r possible ..
Rohan also can comment on this..
