Purchasing Bike from US

Hi,

Recently , i have started to Ride a bicycle to my office .

I am using HERO Octane and planned to purchase a Hybrid one .

 

I checked with my friends in US where they opted me to purchase there.

 

So, I want your suggestions on the below questions :

 

1. Is it worth to get a bicycle from US ?

2. Are there going to be huge difference in amount?

3. My budget is going to be max 25K is that really going to useful if i get from US?

4. Do i face any import duties ?

5. I have asked my friend to get as it is for his use and let me get that from him later?

6. Does any one has already purchased a bike from US before and is that really worth and do we face any issues ?

7. If so its worth > which brand i can check on in US for buying ?

 

Please provide some clarity in the above questions ?

If this is your budget (consider you need to factor Import duties too....)It is not worth it getting it from US.

At this budget you get some good bikes here in bangalore itself.

Hi,

For one thing, I had a friend who had HERO Octane, he eventually gave up riding cycles, he left it in the hostel and no one ever took it out again. You CANNOT EVER compare the ride of a Cannondale Hybrid with HERO Octane.

I do not know whether they impose taxes on used imported cycles. But I am sure you will get a great deal during Thanks Giving day in US.

Worth buying a bike in the US when you plan at at least a 1000 dollar budget.
