This is my first ride report and hoping it's as good as the ride we
had on Saturday to Chikka Thirupthi.
Got back from work at 3 on Saturday morning and slept for a while
since I had to reach the Hosa Road junction only at 6:30. Had a hard
time waking up and had to really drag my self out of bed, which was at
5:45. Barely managed to leave home, when Sandip called and asked if I
was up and ready to go for the ride.
I cycled from E-City and had a hard time reaching Hosa Road as the
visibility on the roads was close to zero. No complaints on the ride
though, I enjoyed every minute of it. The chill weather really wakes
you up and by the time I reached Hosa Road I was all peped up for the
ride.
Sandip joined my at the Hosa Road juction and from there we cycled up
to the Sarjapur Road junction (near Wipro Gate). We stopped to have
tea as we had to wait till Vimal arrived. He joined us in a couple of
minutes and the three of us rode down Sarjapur road towards Decathlon.
We stopped at Decathlon as Sandip had a friend working at Decathlon
who wanted to join us. This guy (sorry I don't recollect his name),
joined us on his Road Bike (We were on our MTBs).
Together the 4 of us rode off to Sarjapur past Dommarandra. At
Sarjapur, the guy from Decathlon had to take a diviation as the roads
were pretty bad and he didn't want to ruin his Road Bike. So, the
three of us rode from there to Chikka Thirupathi. The roads were
awesome after Sarjapur. The traffic was a bare minimum and there is a
lot of greenery on either side of the road. Quite a few gradual
inclines, but nothing that really makes you sweat.
We reached Chikka Thirupathi at 9 and since we were all ravenous, we
had a scrumptious breakfast of Idly, Poori and Bondas (everything
tastes yummy when you are tired and hungry!!). With that ritual
complete, we decided that since we came this far, we might as well
visit the temple.
The temple is nothing to write home about. A small place which was all
garishly painted. We payed our respects to the diety and headed back
home at 10:30.
The ride back was a little hard as the Sun was up in its full glory
and was draining the energy out of me. We three rode together till
Dommasandra and from there I turned left and took the road to
Chandapura. Cycled another 13-14 kms and reached home at 1:30 in the
afternoon.
We rode a total of 79.6Kms and I was thrilled that I could make it
back so fast (keeping in mind my fitness level!!).
Waiting impatiently for my next ride guys.
