Hello All,

I am planning to close in getting my bike this month and need your
inputs on Jayanth cycles in Jayanagar. He sells Firefox, Fomas, etc.

Just want to know if his inputs are reliable, the costing and post
sales service.

Nag,

Unless there is a life threatening need.. do not go to Jayanth
cycles@Jayanagar. They are a bunch of crooks. I had bought my
Trek6000 @Jayant and do not repent for this purchase. However the
spares there are bloody markedup. During my initial days I bought a
spare tube (bontrager) paying 600Rs, while it was <250Rs everywhere
else (realized later). I have heard similar stories from few of the
fellow riders. Also the service is no where close to BOTS or
TrackNTrail.

Hi Nag
I too purchased my cycle from Jayanth.. and it was a similar
experience that i have to go through. An ordinary bell was charged @
Rs. 160 which was available @ Rs.25. u can imagine the rest..
If u don't have any inputs on what to buy then I would suggest BOTS is
the right place for u. Rohan would help u to settle on the right
bike.. their r many people who bought from them and are very happy..

GoGreen for a better tomorrow GoCycling..

Dear Nag,

My personal interaction at Jayant cycles in Jayagar has been bad. The
guy there is unscrupulous,
quotes by seeing how much he can fleece you. I suggest check Firefox and
Fomas prices at other dealers too, before you decide..

I agree with the poor feedback for Jayanth Cycles too. Bad experiences
there for me too. He charged tax over and above the price of a bike
with tax, and only later I found out and he refunded the money. As it
was a Trek 4300, the amount was not small either.

I second Pramod on that point. They also excel in incompetency - I
asked them for a stand & they kept showing me a carrier & insisted
that there's no other thing called stand. Of course, they are famous
for their arrogance too (I thought it was just me until I met a few
others with similar opinions) :-)

Apart from BOTS and T&T, talk to Decathlon or RR Cycles in Madivala (I
think they are one of Decathlon's retailers).

I agree. my brief experience with Jayant has been bad too - overcharges
based on how much he can fleece you is accurate.

Same story with me too. I bought Trek3700 (WSD) for my wife and the
price that they quoted was above the MRP at last I had to call Noida
and speak to Fire fox guys to get the bike for the right price.

Hello,

RR gives 300-400Rs less than what decathlon gives on btwin bikes (on older models)
RR seems to have old stocks which the reason why he gives at lesser price than MRP.

I am staying in Diamond District. Ran into a couple of guys on the list yesterday - and while riding a nice tack flatted my rear wheel - the inner tube, I can patch but, it would be good to have other spares.

Is there a good place by me?

Sorry Ray,
I'm all the way up north, not sure of the bike shops in your area. I
think there is a Fire Fox station on CMH road (off of 100 ft road),
but they would probably not stock this there, if you asked them they
could get it from their main store.
B'lore south guys, Deepak, Arvind, any pointers here?

Ray, any time you would like to explore the roads out North let me
know, Darren Ried (Ozzy pro cyclist) and I train on a beautiful road
up here every morning, will be happy to have you join us some time :)
Good luck with the tubes
Vivek

I think the Firefox on CMH road has closed down..

Ray,

Try RR cycles in Ulsoor.. Let me know if you need directions.. Or we could drop in there sometime together.. I stay in Indiranagar which is quite close by

Regards,
Sampath.

2 options are available nearby:

1. Firefox station like Vivek mentioned on CMH road in Indira Nagar 26641144
2. RR bike station on Old Madras Road in Indira Nagar 41134142, 41283293

There's a lot of road construction work going at Indira Nagar. So expect a very unpleasant journey.

There are several options a little further away in South Bangalore. BOTS (www.bumsonthesaddle.com) and Wheelsports (wheelsports.in) come to mind immediately. You also have the Decathlon sport shop equally further away (http://www.decathlon.in)

Try RR Cycles, Ulsoor. That would probably be closest.

http://maps.google.co.in/maps/place?oe=utf-8&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=rr+cycles&fb=1&gl=in&hq=rr+cycles&hnear=Bengaluru,+Karnataka&cid=14942502587077465247

The Firefox shop on CMH road closed down some time back due to metro
construction.
