I think you can carry bicycles in the airport buses.

Hi Folks,
Could you please tell me if there are buses that will allow both the
Rider and their rides back from Nandi?
Does anyone know if this service is available at all times of the day
and through the week?
Frequency?
Thanks a lot..

Yes it is allowed. But do not pay any more money than the ticket face. For airport busses, cycle (a luggage) is free (included in ticket price).

Hi,

Here you go

http://www.bmtcinfo.com/site/BSBusServicesRouteDetailsTime.jsp?bsserviceid=1

(Timings of Vayu Vajra Airport bus service).

Just to add. The fare for these Airport Volvo buses is still very high. I paid Rs. 230/- from Airport to Bommanahalli.

Of course, this is not much compared to the cabs which charge around 650 to 1200 based on the time of the day.

If you are taking regular buses (not Volvo) probably it might be cheaper overall (if they charge for luggage). Or else try hitchhike.

Disclaimer:
I never visited Nandi on cycle.

Regards,
Jeevan

I think non Volvo BMTC buses have been discontinued. So, this is the cheapest you can get.

NO bus travel charges are discounted . . .

Airport Volvo bus charges are overly priced (doubled) as the half of the occupancy space is left for luggage . . .

Are there any options available if two or more people want to pool-in and ride together? How much does a Toyota Innova type mini-van cost per km? Couldn't you easily transport 2 or 3 bicycles on those with the wheels removed?

hello all,
just thought this piece of information would come in handy, once i tried taking my cycle on board a volvo from jp nagar 6th phase till yelhanka, but was not allowed permission to travel on the bus  even after several frantic requests...dropped some big names too at the terminus but was flatly refused...there seems to be a consensus on what is allowed and what not...i also told them that u cant refuse as it can be considered to be luggage, but NO was the answer...
the plan took shape because once rushi and i had hitched a volvo ride from airport turn-off to hebbal, that instance not a single problem ! surprising..

Could it be that there is an element of pity over here. They probably know you are going to be in a tough spot if they don't let you on the bus near the airport where you are far away from the city. But, in the city, you have plenty of other options, so they probably don't feel quite as bad.

Hi Friends/folks,

just forget the volvo, if they aren't interested in doing the business
as said to naveen earlier, just pedal till the nearest bus stop on the
bellary road or get in to the devanhalli on the way to air port from
nandi turnoff point -from there you can board N number of private
buses who are always in help right from loading and unloading your
cycle to top of the carrier and you request a stop any where they do
it for you...,

ain't commenting on the rest of the world -its competitive world
