Dear cycling friends ,

After 4+ years of dreaming & longing for my own good cycle, I have now come to a juncture where im ready to buy one but in a confusion which one, I have shortlisted few models & these are purely a web based search & mesmerising of the eyes.

Orbea Toubkal - 21,200.
Orbea Tenere - 24,500.
Giant Revel 0 - Around 21K.
Cannondale 2011 Trail 6 - 24,500
SCHWINN 2012 FRONTIER ELITE - 19,450.

Your reviews & suggestions would be of great help.

My budget somehow pushed from 18K to 25K(Thanks to diwali bonus :) ).

I would be using my cycle for daily commute to office... which would be RT Nagar to Domlur & back...soon catching up with weekend riders.

I liked Orbea for some reason but have never come across any reviews on BBC. Anybody owning Orbea, your feedback would be of great value.

Thanks for all your inputs.

Dennis.

I think Trek 4300 may strain the budget a wee bit.

Hi Aravind / Rajaram,

Totally agree with you that Trek 4300 is a good choice. I somehow been facinated by the disc brake...so would like to go for a cycle which is equipped well for my budget of 25K. 4300 goes slightly over my budget & 4300D is 32k....which will be way high at this time for me.

Thanks,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

You can also look at GT Avalanche 3.0.
It would fit your budget and is a good option, it has worked at least
for me.

I am sure a lot of them will vouch for 4300 and might be worth stretching for. If u absolutely don't want to then Giant Revel 1D (or Revel 0) is a good option but out of stock I guess. U can consider the Canondales in the range. If I were you I did wait for the new stock of Merida, KHS & Giant that is to arrive in this month! :)) I am myself waiting for it to get some friends on to the saddle...

+1000!

For an MTB, at that price range, I'd pick the KHS Alite 500 over
anything else. I would also check out the new Revel 0 if it were out.
But, I'd still put down my money on the KHS.

Another great offer currently running is the Rockrider 8.0. Currently
slashed down to something like 23 or 24k. Amazing deal for the specs!

I would stay away from the Orbeas purely because they are not enough
bike at the price i.e. you pay a big premium for it with no gain on
specs.

Thats an eye opener. Thanks.

Friends on the saddle : Pls vote  : Cannondale Trial 6 Vs KHS 500 Vs Giant Revel 0

If you're directing that to 'all' you need to cc them :)

No, its not really a strong no because that would indicate they are bad bikes. They aren't. They are good bikes. But they are wayyy more expensive than other bikes which are similarly spec-ed. More so than the Treks even as I recall. One sec, let me check the ones you quoted.
