I used to have gluconD in my pre-cycling days (I used to trek, play tennis, skate, etc.)
Then, in my first 300K (Blr-Mys-Chamundi and back) brevet, Kiran Kumar (not tusker) and his gang advised me to take some electrolyte based and they recommended electral. I used electral from there on for my 400K and 600K. Later, I came to know of gatorade from racing in BBCh. I tried gatorade - both lime and orange flavours, used to buy from Decathlon.
Either served the purpose for me. But mouth used to get sick of the taste after a while. But I have this habit of not bothering of taste. If I have to, there is no second thought - I have to take it in.
Later, gatorade went out of market. I had to try enerzal. I tried both orange and lime. I liked the lime flavor. Surprisingly, I never get sick with enerzal lime. My wife is not a regular cyclist or runner. But whenever she runs or cycles, I give the same enerzal lime. She too likes it. But the concentration should be exactly 500ml for one packet. I do use two packets for 1.6L (900ml + 700 ml) bottles. But ideally, it tastes best at 500ml mix of one packet. I carry 900+700 just to have that extra 100ml for the long ride - the largest bottles that would fit in my frame size.
If I run out of enerzal, I fall back to ORS/electral which are easy to find. Or simply table salt - not a perfect thing, but good enough as long as I would be eating meals which will again have various nutrients including minerals.
