Sixth
hands on session with the cycles at Lakkasandra. We started inside the
campus, with circles and figure 8's with the
advanced/intermediate students, but there is a space constraint to do it
properly. We then moved the advanced/intermediate students-
Pintu, Nandini, Aleeya, Revathi,Shallu,Umera,Mokshitha,
Deekshitha to the
small dead end lane
next to the school and practiced there. After a while, the advanced
students Pintu, Nandini, Aleeya then moved on to practicing one hand
riding in the main
road and safe turning. , including all the way to the edge of the
Bannerghatta road, I had
to do some running to stay with them. Indu helped the intermediate
students Revathi,
Umera,Mokhshitha,Divya,
Deekshitha
and Shallu learn safe stopping and half pedaling.
Revathi, Shaalu, Umera are still working on turning. Umera seemed to
have better control compared to last week.Revathi,Shallu and Umera moved to practicing on the short stretch
of the main
road.
Umera and Revathi then joined
Pintu, Nandini, Aleeya riding on the long stretch of the main road upto
Bannerghatta road intersection. The others
Abhignya, Thipakka,Brunda practiced scooting, and half
pedaling inside the school campus. We got some of the advanced students
to help them as well, Nandini teaching Abignya, Aleeya teaching Divya.
Thippakka is still struggling , due
to her short height and bit of a learning challenge. We ended with Indu
handing out candy to the students and the
teachers. The students remained
enthusiastic and energetic in their efforts, and were proactively asking
if they can move to the main road to practice, and it's great to see all the students' confidence! We hope to have most of the students riding by the time we end
the sessions on Feb 14th.
