GT Tachyon 3.0 or Schwinn 2012 Sporterra Sport

Hi All,

What would be a good buy - GT Tachyon 3.0 @ 32K or Schwinn 2012 Sporterra Sport @ 21K, considering that I would like to cycle in the morning to exercise and occasional long rides and that I would like to own it for a long time. The GT looks stunning but is 12K more.

Also, would a size L fit me - I am 6'2".

Dear Prashant,

I picked up a 2012 Sporterra on Nov7th and crossed 100kms yday. I am
pretty happy about this since this was an upgrade from an 3 year old
hero octane to a hybrid.

I am 6' and the L size fits perfectly. I changed my saddle to a more
sleek one. Exchanged it with the earlier model of Schwinn. I did not
find it comfortable seated. Mine is without shocks and even for small
jumps it hurts. I changed the angle of my hands to the bar and it
helped to reduce taking the jerks.....I should have gone for shocks is
what I feel now. The grip on the handle is the best part...of this
model. Excellent straight line speed...easily crosses 40+ in no time
during a descent....

Don't worry too much about the lack of shocks. I have a canondale five MTB. Comes with option to lock the shock. Initially I wondered who in the world would ever want to lock the shocks! After some experiments turning on and off the shocks, I've come to realize that no shocks is really the way to ride!! I keep them off most of the time. The action of shocks are really annoying sometime. At times, you want it but really quite rare!!

If you have 30k plus, you should consider cannondale bad boy, bianchi cameleonte, kona dew plus etc..
