Hello,
Anyone used Btwin count 14+ cycle computer with heart rate monitor (optional) and cadence meter? Count 8 seems to be the most popular choice, but don't want it because it has no backlight; a necessity when travelling by night. Cadence and heart rate monitor would be good in this price range. Didn't go for Btwin sat count GPS, as I saw poor reviews about software support (but hardware got good review), If anyone has bought or used any of these, please respond. Thank you for advices beforehand :)

I use one with cadence (which comes along with it) and HR belt (you need to buy extra.). Absolutely no issues and really happy with it.

Thanks and regards,
Ashok.

How about the software support? In the Dechathlon website they claim to have software support for both MAC/WINDOWS, but found geonaute software only for windows! Did you try to feed the data into computer and analyse?

Hello,
I have a strange problem with my count 14+ mounted on my road bike with 700x23 tires, its showing correct instantaneous speed but reduced total distance and reduced average speed. The cadence meter is fine I suppose. I compared with count 8 and some other cyclocomputer, which are like these-
1. total distance ~105km (correct), count 14+ ~95 km.
2. total distance 2.17km (correct), count 14+ 2.0km.
Which tells that nearly 10% error. What might be the origin of this problem?

If you are very sure that the instantaneous speed is correct, then nothing must be wrong with the comp configuration. You can give it to decathlon. They will replace it if it is defective. But I'd rather suggest to use a GPS based application as well in parallel to verify that there is an issue. Most likely, even the instantaneous speed might be wrong and you might have configured a wrong tyre size is what I feel...

Ashok

At multiple instances I had the chance to compare with not only count 8, but also other cyclocomps e.g. sigma and schwinn. In every cases it's same, showing less average speed and less total distance. I checked wheel size, it is configured right in count 14+.
My question is, is there any chance that might be wrong with the mounting position of the speed sensor for rear wheel: the manual puts no restriction for the distance from wheel axle (as shown by red arrow in the attached pdf). I have mounted with much larger distance (bigger red arrow) as the chain stay is too narrow i.e. near the cadence sensor. I have an idea to change it at default position shown in the pdf, and I will let know if that works.

If that's the case, how did you confirm that the speed displayed is correct?

Today I mounted both count 8 (front wheel) and count 14+ (back wheel) on my bike, which results in-

                            Count 8          Count 14+

average                 14.2km                 13.9
maximum              21.6km/ph             19.0
total                       4.84km                   4.7
time                       20.32sec                20.18
instanteneous      no considerable difference
Both were started and stopped at same time, confused why time is also different.

Hi,
Thank you all for your help. I got the replacement (new unopened count 14+) in one week after I launch complaint at Decathlon online, they took the old one back. They were helpful (called me on phone and exchanged emails) and quite active. I didn't expect such great support. There was definitely some problem with the old one, new one is working as it should be.

Good news! They are very prompt. For me, for a manufacturing defect, they just wanted me to email them a photo of the defective product and they shipped the replacement. Amazing customercare!!!

Btw, I still wonder how you concluded that your instantaneous speeds were correct... :)

regards,
Ashok
