How do vee rubber tires compare with innova tires? My Schwinn's innova tire got torn today near the rim edge for no reason. (mostly because of a manufacturing defect, it has just been 800kms). The RR cycles guy gave me a vee rubber tire as replacement. He told it is much better than the existing innova 700 x 38 c tires! But, I want to know the 'truth'!

PS - Many thanks to the biker (sorry, forgot to ask name..) who advised me to 'boot' it with 10 rupee note! It worked like a charm and stayed put till I replaced the tire.

Thanks,
Shreeju

Sorry, the existing tires were Duro Spitfire, 700 x 38. How does vee rubber compare with Duro?

Reviving this old thread.

Shreeju, could you pls explain this "booting" process ?
Also, now after almost a year of use, how do you find the Vee Rubber tires, compared to the Innova / Duro tires ?
I realize that the 2011 model of Sporterra Sport get the Innova City tires, and the 2012 model gets the Duro Spitfire.
How are the treads of the Vee tire compared to the original ?

That vee rubber tyre was bad too. It got torn on the sidewall near the bead.

I am currently running Kenda Kwick Roller Sport (with Iron cap.) on my Sporterra. Good till now. Easy rolling. About 3000km, zero flats and still looks fresh. Schwalbe, Vittoria etc has great tyres too.

Booting is nothing but inserting some piece of rubber in between the tube and tyre where the tyre is torn. It would hold up for small tears.
