Hi ,

I am looking to buy a Trek 4300. My height is 6.00ft.
Can someone suggest the correct frame size that I should buy.
The shop (Firefox in Jaynagar) has only 19.5' frame size. I found this
size small.
The next frame sizes for Trek 4300 come in 21 & 22.5 size.
Will you be able to suggest which frame size will be suitable for my
height.

Also if anyone of you have a 21/22.5 inch frame size bicycle (pref
Trek) that I could try, it would be helpful ,.( areas in and around
BTM, Koramangala, Jayanagar, Bannerghata road )

Thanks for your suggestion/help

Why don't you go to BOTS if you are near Jayanagar. They are in a very convenient location between Ashoka Pillar and 4th block (Very close to Madhavan Parak)

Couple of Thoughts on this - since we get so many requests about frame fitting.

When you are looking at a frame size
- do you know what to look for in a different frame size ?
- do you know the bad effects of choosing the wrong frame size ?
- do you know the know how of what frame size fits whom ?
- do you have how to fit a person if you get a particular frame size ?

If you have answers to all of these, please do ahead and take a decision on what frame size is best for you (and please apply at BOTS for a job, we are looking at hiring smart bikers :D)

If you donot, would recommend you get to your LBS whom you trust and ensure you just listen to them.
Just feeling good on a 2 minute ride (I am exaggerating, sometimes its just 10 seconds) is no indicator of whether the frame is correct for you or not.
Just cause someone else who is about your height has a similar frame size is also not a good indicator.

Multiple frame sizes fit a person most of the times - whats most important is that after a person is recommended a frame and he buys the bike can the dealer rectify and make you comfortable ?

And a ton of other points.

just a FYI incase you are looking at some self help on this subject - its akin to telling yourself you need to take xxx medicine cause you have some symptoms.
You COULD do that - and many a time it would work.
But best would be to get to a doc you trust, and get his recommendation and listen to that ! If the doc is a quack, your turn to tell the rest of the world about the quack.

Why this post - well, kinda get loads of ppl telling me that X bike is better than Y cause its a Acera vs an Alivio.
Or about Road focussed MTBs
Or something similar !

Hope everyone had a good ride today - it was hot as hell and my legs are shot after the 180km ride !

Have a nice weekend bikers.

Hi ,

Frame size is very very important else you wont enjoy the Effective cycling, YOu may get back pain, Neck Pain ....
I would suggest vist BOTS they will help with the perfect bike and perfect frame.

For me i purchased a 20 inch frame(Trek 7100) which had pathetic results then i changed the frame size to 17.5 inches which is very very comfortable for the ride Rohan from bots has helped me for the Perfect fit.
