BBCh 5 - RECCEE on Sunday 6th

Hello all,
We are doing a 4th reccee tomorrow to finalize the route, start and
finish points etc...so still some work to be done.

However for those interested in checking out the route, I will give
some directions, having trouble with Google earth, and I'm not a
techie, so you will have to settle for my old fashioned instructions.

1. At Mekhri Circle set your Odometers to Zero, and ride towards BIAL/Nandi
2. Just past Jakkur Aerodrome there is a traffic light with a Petrol
station to your left, where a road forks off to the left towards
Yelahanka Town. Take that road. You will ride over a level crossing
(careful, ride perpendicular to tracks or wheel could get stuck!!!)
and you will reach a junction after about a km or so. This is roughly
12 km from Mekhri.
3. At the Junction there is a traffic light and Yelahanka police
station to your left.
TURN LEFT onto Dodaballapur road and keep riding for another 8 km.
4. at about 20 km from Mekhri Circle you will reach RAJANAKUNTE
village on the Doddaballapur road. Take the main Left turn there. This
is a fantastic stretch, 15 km from there you will hit a T junction
with a small circle - This is a turn around point to head back.

From Mekhri Circle the ride there and back is about 70 km, the race
however will be only about 50 km.

Have a good ride, enjoy the great roads and country side

PS: We will be heading out from Mekhri circle at about 6:30 on a very
fast training ride, so you can join or do it at your own pace.

we rode through Rajankunte stretch on the way back from Hesarghatta.
This stretch is amazing- newly built road in superb condition, nice
winding route through scenic fields and vinyards. Perfect for road
biking.

Just made a fully detailed map of the actual race route today, but we
are having some technical issues with it.
In the maentime I will provide some all fashioned directions with
distances etc later tonight.
It is a truely beatiful route, you will all love it. I strongly
suggest a reccee ride to get to know the route and enjoy the scenery,
as on race day all trail blazers will be head down and panting.

Deepak,
We tried using google maps on i-Phone, but it failed to locate itself.
So waiting for a map by Vivek.
Actually it's pretty easy to get there if you follow Vivek's
instructions in the original mail.
Just be watchful here

It's easy to miss this if you have never been to Yelahanka Town or
Dodballapur side.
Stick to the left most lane when you are near Jakkur. Don't 'hit' this
traffic light, barely few meters before it the road forks out. That's
the left you need to take.

I am all excited to be on my first BBCh.
The race start point is around 30kms from my place (koramangala 4th
block)
Are there any guys with bicycle racks or are cycling from koramangala,
whom I can tag along :) ?
What time the race starts ?.....sorry, but could not find it on the
site.
