So, it all started with my previous week 100KM ride. After I am done with the century, I wanted to go to Nandi Hills. I mean, just the base. I had no intention or capability [me felt so] to climb on her.

There were discussion with Ranjni and guys who were also planing for Nandi hills same week. But suddenly they were changes and they planned for other long rides. So, I decided to do it myself.

I started as usual by 6am from my home in Brookfield. For some reason, covering even 30KM was tough. The dust on the cycle and chain made it too difficult to pedal. Infact, I got this fellow serviced just 2 weeks back. Time to lube him again.

I saw a lady zoom passing me on the road bike after I took the left from NH4 that leads to New airport. And after I crossed the Budigere, I saw 2 more guys on their road bikes with a Innova support vehicle following them. First time, I was thinking if I should switch to a road bike or atleast change the tyres :)

And I saw this very same guys returning from the Nandi while was near Prestige construction place in the Nandi road.

Anyway, when I reached Devanahalli town it was nearing 8:30am. Thought of having breakfast there, but for some reason decided to continue without stopping. Had a tea break when I reached NH7. Took some usual pictures on the turn to Nandi.

The ride from there was really difficult for me and I took many breaks in this stretch. It was like a never ending straight road. Took 50min to cover that 10KMs. Then after the left it was even difficult and i need to take rest and continue.

Finally, I reached the base where we have the Nandi statue. Goal was reached.

I stopped the bike around that corner shop and thought of having my quota of tea. It was that time I noticed 2 more bikes parked in front of the Nandi Multi cuisine. So, went to say hi to the fellow bikers.

I met these 3 people - Yogesh & Pramod, and one more person from Chennai. [Sorry sir, forgot ur name!!]

They were also trying to climb Nandi. And Yogesh was the one who spoiled me with the wish of climbing Nandi. Since my goal was already met, anything further beyond this point was a bonus. So took some courage and said will join them.

"Join them" is just a statement. I cant be going with them. Especially guys like Yogesh whoe is on his Nth time climbing Nandi and having a best time of 38min [Said this time he made it even better. 36min!!!]

After some rest in down, we started to climb little before 11am. Initial climb was little steep and by the time I could see whats happening, Yogesh vanished from the scene. Now, I was all alone trying to see which gear is better, moves helps more etc etc and almost crawling on Nandi roads :)

So many 2 wheelers and almost every curve had atleast 2 couple spending their weekend with some fun. Oops, this is not the forum for that!!! So, skipping.

I slowly counting the KMs reducing and I see 4 KMs marked. Then I see some biker sitting with his bike lying on ground. I go closer and it was none other than Yogesh. This fellow have completed the climb and was descending now!!! I was almost fainting. He got his front tyre puncture and fixing there.

And me continued further telling him, I will try to see how far I can continue.

It was 30th curve I think. I was literally down and was not in a mind or health to continue further. So, sat in the shade and had the banana and electrol I got with me. Then took the gear to the lowest and tried to push myself and ofcourse the bike. The kenda tyre was proving to be so costly on me now. Could not move this guy an inch.

With great difficulties, yes very great difficulties and too many breaks, finally I see this arch and you should have seen my face. :)

All the pain in my legs went like anything with a 1000W shine on my face. I could not believe myself that I made it. Ya, finally made it after 1hr and 40min. Who cares, atleast I was able to make it. I should thank Yogesh here. Certainly it was because of his moral support and encouragement I attempted this, and made it. Thanks again Yogesh.

Meanwhile, I was out of stock of water. And had 2 tender coconuts on the top.

Then the return was a breeze. :)

Ya, just breeze. It was so fast I don't want to continue at that speed. Keep braking often to make sure I was within controllable sped.

Again met with Yogesh who was climbing for 2nd time.

I think it took 4 or 5 min to climb down. Fantastic. My fastest for a 8KM. lol.

Have posted some pics. Hope you guys don't mind.

WOW You spent 12 hours on a bike? ... you probably needed to eat a stick of butter to get back half the calories you burned off.
