Cycling in chennai

Hi,

Leaving Bangalore and Coming to Chennai i made a big mistake for the sake of salary hike.

I cannot ride cycle here in Chennai to office as its terribly hot and i sweat as if i had a shower, 

My previous work place in Mysore and Bangalore was best for cycling.

My trek Hybrid is falling lifeless from 3 months.

Jealous on you folks as iam missing my cycling days.

There are many bikers there.... Make sure u join Chennai bikers and Tamilnadu cycling club, The bbc equivalents there.... But,they still cant help with the heat though :p

Oh yes Mahesh, better to get in touch with those clubs.. there are amazing bikers there and ride frequently.
Best part of chennai is that the weather is warm early morning also, so not much time needs to be spent to warm up the muscles :)
Also you dont have to work very hard to sweat it out there like here :)

Bottomline, where there is a will, there is a way.

We had biked there in end of Jan when we went there for the ICR race, enjoyed it a lot.. well May's temperature is ofcourse a different story.

Get a foldie...doesn't solve the problem entirely but you can cycle in
places where it's peaceful and not so hot

I was in chennai for 2 months and faced a similar situation.I lost my commuting on cycle habit with that But if you stay on the OMR side, there are 2-3 riders who do daily commute and quite a bunch who do weekend trips on East coast or omr road.

You can find them on the chennai cycling groups on yahoo.
