Indiranagar, GM Palya, Domlur, CV Raman Nagar, Tippasandra, Kodihalli and in and around etc...

We can form a group and cycle on weekends..!!

This Saturday, I was thinking how about a short ride of 40-45 kms to get to know each other and ride together..

And then we can plan for a century ride next weekend..!! There might be some cyclists who would still be doing shorter rides and might be thinking of extending their rides further.. this short ride will help them out as well..

I was thinking of meeting at Indiranagar KFC Junction (though I stay in GM Palya), ride to KR Puram Railway station-> Outer Ring Road all the way to Silk Board->Madivala->Inner Ring Road->Indiranagar....

Hi guys...i just want to mention abt anil kadsur here.. We shld all take a  cue from him on timing and sticking to it.  He always comes on time to the riding spot and i mean on time not in time. When u say 5.30am. Or 4 am he will be there.  And never misses a ride for anythng.

Just wanted to mention this for a good reason..we sometimes get lazy and want to spend that 10 more mns on bed but sometimes  forget to get up..

So guys... Pls dont take me wrong...if we give a time and we shld stick to it.. ..all newbies ride with him and know wat time management is all about.
Sorry i am replying in this thread..not intending any body directly here... I want all of us to ride hard and be healthy and not miss any rides which are planned... Keep riding and stay healthy..

Guys, I am new to cycling and to this group.  I got my cycle on Monday.  Have been generally doing 20 - 25 km since then.  Have done almost 110 km till now over 5 days.  Quite amazed to see you guys riding 60km, 70 km etc at a stretch.  Want to know if it is advisable for me to join in for long rides given my experience.  Also, generally what do u guys carry for such long rides I can surely think of water bottle, but apart from that, what else? 

Due to office, I generally ride during nights... 9pm types.  {lazy to get up during morning, given the cold winds.... :)}

Anyone willing to join in for some night rides 25 - 40 kms? I stay near total mall old airport road.  Let me know... Thanks

Even I fall in the same category , I have started cyclling recently & have done couple of rides starting from 20 to 40 kms , I have an MTB .
Is it advisable to do 80 to 100 kms?
I want to join you guys for your next trip but I am little worried if I can match your speed in MTB?
Need your inputs, this will encourage me for cyclling.

Well, you can perfectly join rides around 100kms! Just believe yourselves that you can do it. You "may be" riding slow at the beginning, but eventually you ll pick up the speed and rock&roll with your bike on roads as you gain experience. So, just start riding with a group and you ll discover your potential in riding the bike. You will feel great after the ride - "Yes I did it!" and it will boost up confidence for next rides :) Happy riding!

I started riding my mtb in June and have been doing rides upto 150km since August. Bunch of veterans have done brevets on MTBs.
Go forth and ride. Only caveat is try to ramp up max distance by 20% jumps so body has time to attuneM

Me and my friend do long rides on one of the days of the weekend every week.

Our regular routes from Indiranagar are:

Indiranagar-OMR-budigere cross-BIAL road junction and back the same route

Indiranagar-OMR-Whitefield-hope farm-varthur-marathahalli-Indiranagar

Indiranagar-hebbal-airport and back

Indiranagar-marathahalli-varthur-sarjapur-Koramangala-Indiranagar

Indiranagar-electronic city till booth and back

Some days we do a leisure ride to Cubbon park, spend an hour and back

If folks are interested let's decide a route a meeting point and a time to start.

Thanks for the company last Saturday.  It was an enjoyable ride.  I was just left behind little bit at the Hope farm traffic light signal as I got sudden shoulder pain while using wrong gear combination starting from the signal.  I was just behind Jayesh at the traffic light and then lost him.  Can you share the selfie?
