Hi BBC
Am looking for a rear mount 3 Bicycle rack for my Ford Endeavour.
Checked a few outlets and Thule racks - but seems the only readily
available ones are roof mount ones.

The Adventure One Store guys told me that I need to have a tow rack
mount installed on the rear bumper to mount one.

Any ideas or options of fabricating one locally are welcome and will
really help - as I need one quickly.

Thanks

The KYNKYNY roof mounted racks are probably the best available.
Contact Vivek for further details.

bicycles on rear mount rack are not as safe as the ones carried on roof mounts, the bangalore type of traffic will indicte why, also bikes are ore safe from fingering...! i do not know your reasons, but there are not too many valid ones for rear racks, except that you do not have to lift up bikes much.....

Strongly second what Georg says.

If some moron in a taxi rear ends you and crashes not only your car but your precious bikes as well, it will be an unqualified disaster (at least in my books).

Roof mounted any day.

I am actually worried about my own instincts. While driving, I have an
understanding of the height of my car and I worry that I might
actually crash my cycle to a tree branch or some obstruction if it is
roof mounted.

Thanks
Raghu

Disclaimer: I dont have any bike rack for my car. I carry my bike
inside my car.

Vivek's KYNKYNY rack working best for me on the roof of my car.

I had to take a small 100 m detour once due to the height
barrier .. .Else, been a cake walk.

I just need to fix it atop and forget about people rear ending / kids
trying to play with the bike and so on.

These racks hold the bike pretty solid and I can open the rear door of
my hatch back without any worries.

Thanks to Vivek for making one work on my car..

cheers,
Badri

thnx all....my problem - current bike is heavy..also the height of the
Ford needs me to literally climb on top to roof mount...
it probably is a mental block...will review when I meet the Kynkyny
team qualis next...for a first hand experience...
