Dear all,

Can anyone recommend a physio or Ortho doctors in Bangalore who deals with non traumatic knee injuries and have good experience with cycling as sport?

Regards,
Naveen.

There is a physio called Gladson in Jayanagar who is popular with the running community. Not sure about cycling specific though.

A few people I know have seen him for squash/ tennis injuries rehab, he gave them some stretching/strengthening routines which have helped them.

Peak Performance has a few branches in Bangalore, and though I think they are more aware of running than cycling, they are sport physiotherapists who have been effective for my spouse's non traumatic knee issues that occured after cycling. Ortho didn't help in this case, and we also wasted time at another physio - I think you could stay away from those ultrasound-like therapies.

Resistance training by strengthening the appropriate muscles, was what actually fixed the knee issue with specific workouts suggested for this after diagnosis by the physio. Earlier at the orthopedician, we wasted many months ineffectively on vitamin d3, calcium supplements, even a cartilage supplement - I forgot what that was.

Sincerely,
Gokul

I think if you want a simple answer, strength training is the bottom line. One has to do weight training especially for quadriceps but in general from Core muscles to hip knee and ankle muscles.
Better done in good gym with interested knowledgeable trainers.

Dear members,

Thank you for the recommendations. I will check them out.

I have been doing weight training from over an year now. Infact I regret not doing it in my 20s. My knee tendon injury was picked up during my football playing days few years back. Due to lack of self knowledge and insufficient physio practices from the ones i consulted means the rehab was not done properly.

Regards
Naveen
