Hi ,

I just moved to US for a couple of months and while I am here I plan to buy a "Not so expensive" commuter bikes for my commutes and recreational riding  .I looked up local craigslist  and ebay for used bikes but could not find any for my price range of < 500 usd.
I have now zeroed in on Gravity Liberty Cx  from Bikes Direct . Any reviews about this bike and also  about buying bikes from bikes direct would be very helpful .
Also when I tried to buy this bike from BD using my India debit/credit card the transaction was declined although I am shipping it to a US address . It looks like they need the billing and shipping address to be in the US and to be the same . Are there any  workarounds that some of you might have used to bypass this restriction . I checked other online retailers such as amazon who do accept Indian cards but they dont have this bike.

Cheers,
Ravi

Ask one of your friends to order it for you, and pay them by cash. I
usually do that.

I could  do that  but BD and BikeShopWarehouse  both insist that billing and shipping address be the same ,
so I will have to ship the bike to a friend in different city and  then ask them to courier it to me .

They accept US Postal Orders or Wire Transfers too -- but you need to
email them before. Talk to Karla at (bd4sal...@aol.com)

They ship very quickly, BTW.

P.S. Another option is to use a US PayPal account -- they ship to any
address then.

The shipping address (if different from the billing address) needs to be on file--call the credit card company and get it done.

Same goes for using your friend's credit card too--your address has to be added to this credit card file.
