Midnight Full Moon ride to Nandi on night of 28th and 29th

Hi Riders!!

Well, pretty much inspired by Mansoor's recent ride, I had been dreaming abt the New Year midnight ride I did on 31st Dec 09 !! : ) It was a full moon night when I rode all the way from HAL to Nandi and back watching all the New Year celebrations and parties going on around Nandi.

Now with the intention to re-live that memorable night and avoid the blazing sun during the day, here is my plan.

28th Friday Night 9pm : meet at Hebbal and start ride towards Nandi. Reach Nandi top by 1 am. Start back after short rest and reach back to Bangalore by 6 am on 29th Saturday
29th Saturday Night 9pm : meet at Hebbal and start ride towards Nandi. Reach Nandi top by 1 am. Start back after short rest and reach back to Bangalore by 6 am on 30th Saturday.

Those who can't ride on Friday night can join up for the Saturday night ride. People can also join up midway from CCD, Nandi Highway Turn or the Nandi Base!!

Well just as a note for those who feel that this is a risky ride on the highway at night, let me assure you that with proper care, Night ride no more dangerous than a day ride on the 6 lane highway.

Note: -
1. Lights and reflectors are compulsory for all..
2. Carry enough water food / snacks with you from city coz after 11 at night, u might not find any shops open.
3. I will carry a first aid kit.

Hi Shankar / Chiddu,

I just wanted to avoid the hot sun. I have done nandi couple of weeks back and suffered bad sun burns. The heat is terrible. So just wanted to do the ride in the cool night breeze. Anyway, it is a total different experience altogether!!

Thanks Dipankar.

A few tips on the night ride:

- keep as silent as possible so that you don't disturb the villagers around and also e away the do not scar
- there are a few shops on the way which are open all night and serve omelete's, tea, biscuits and noodles

Hi paul,

I have a suggestion but I guess its too late to consider it for
Friday's ride.

We could all gather at Hebbal by midnight/1 AM such that we could
reach Nandi Hills to see the sunrise and start moving down by 5:30 /
6AM, then reach our homes by 8 AM easily for breakfast and some good
sleep. With this we can have a mix of both riding in the moon light as
well as during dawn.

thesun would probably bother use for a while on our way home.

Please do let me know of you can consider this for Saturday's ride, if
so I would love to join you guys.

Discussed with others and seems to be a gr8 idea. For the last 6 months that I have been visiting Nandi, could never manage to view the sunrise there.

So here is the new plan for Saturday night ride.

Meet at Hebbal at 2 AM on Sunday 30th May. (sunday early morning 2 AM).

Current riders :-

1. Dipankar - (HAL)
2. Chiddu - (BTM)
3. Tarun - (?)

Join up if u wanna enjoy the (almost) full moon ride!!!
