Merida should be more insulated as being a Taiwanese co, their
currency has not appreciated as much. I think this is a temporary
thing due to a number of reasons.
1. The prices of all commodities has crashed, bringing down the cost
of production
2. The price of oil is in freefall, if you believe some analysts, the
days of $150 oil were an aberration that will never come again. I
recently read that Ford had restarted production of its F150 trucks
again . Whatever you may feel about that, the fact with falling gas
prices, it's quite likely that interest in cycles may come down.
3. The massive rise of the dollar against all the currencies is also
likely to reverse in equally dramatic fashion in a feew months time
Put all this together, we could be seeing quite lower prices in a few
months. Atleast, let's hope so.
