What would be the elapsed time for Brest? Is it around 41h and 30 minutes ?

It should be 600/15 + 15/12 = 41h15m (41.25 hours).

As per the data, the following are still within contenders of a finish (meeting the 41:30 cut off at 618 km Brest and 55:15 cut off at the 783 km Loudeac. I can see only two riders at the 867 km Tinteniac station. I assume, they are some technical glitch in the data, because they have safely reached the Fougere 921 km mark except Prakash Dubepatil. 66:35 should be the cut off at 921 km. So, Prakash has already missed the control. Totally 12 in the fray.

1. Thiruvengadam Ashok
2. Nilesh Chaudhari
3. Prakash Dubepatil
4. Baskar G
5. Ashwin Govindasamy
6. Mehul Joshi
7. Naresh Kumar
8. Pranaya Mohanty
9. Hiren Patel
10. Kaviarasu Rajappan
11. Samir Shah
12. Apurv Verma

Ashwin Govindasamy and Pranaya Mohanty have finished. Hiren Patel should be finishing in a few hours. The remaining 8 are all on track. They should comfortably finish.

BTW, if you see the sheet, 19 people are likely to finish within the cut-off time, though only 11 will qualify for homologation. Good spirit for the other 8 who didn't get deterred by the misses in intermediate controls.

If they recover within 2 controls the time lapses can be waived off, at least that is what shreyas said.

Ashok T has just finished PBP,

Silvester , Somaskanda, Rushit and Yuvraaj are on track as well I believe

Wow! That is cool. Suppose, one misses 3rd and 4th but recovers in 5th, misses 6th and 7th and recovers in 8th... that still qualifies as recovery within 2 controls. In that case, all of 19 or 20 might get homologated - including Yuvaraj and Silvester.

Anil, the link Mehul sent https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aw5MeOQgFU9zzOSOPcPoBCjVRiCACQ4-7pI5S0lUbjo/edit#gid=759549976 is a live data (not static page). It directly imports the data from PBP site.

12 of them crossed the finish line. Cut off is 92:30. Also note that there are two start times. So, those who started in 2nd batch will have time till 5pm (as per BR site). So, expect 20 of them to cross the finish line.

Looks like Rushit didn't make it to the last control. Rest 4 made it. Will wait and see. He seemed to have slowed down just on the penultimate control. Sleeplessness maybe

Even if Rushit made to last control, it will not be within the cut off of 92:30, because he had to do the last leg of 65 km in just 2:18.

Guys,

Its 90 hours.... not 92:30 hours.

Also I have checked with Mehul Joshi (one of the PBP finisher), he said as cutoff time is 90 hours.

Oh! All these while I was assuming that the control timings are same pace as brevet, which is 15 kmph for the first 600 km and 12 kmph for the rest, which translates to 90 hours for the slow batch for a 1200 km. But this year, it is 1230 km.

Someone who knows it well can explain it. Thanks.

PBP 2015 Quit

Kiran patel: started the ride with frobt bigger gear resulted in ligament knee injury at 310 kms.

Thank you Kotak Mahindra Bank for sponsoring me.

Anil, injuries can come to any experienced person too depending on the person's fitness level at that time. But riding at higher gear is something least expected from a SR.

Opendro,

True, I agree.
