Swimming Coaching

Hi,

 

I wanted to participate in Triathlons, I don't know swimming and looking for a good place to train myself and practice.

 

Can you let me know any pointer for this and also the cost of this if you are aware?

I am also interested in learning/practicing swimming as it is a good exercise to do (not so much of HM's etc).  I strongly hope this would be a good cross training for cycling.

I stay in Banaswadi but do not know any good, decent place that is not crowded. Any pointer will be of great help.

Bangalore is fortunately blessed with some really great swimming pools.

1. PM Swim Centre, Jayanagar ( their morning 5-6 slot is fairly empty on any given day, particularly during winters )

2. Basavangudi aquatic centre ( a little crowded in the morning, but no so bad that you cant put laps )

3. K.C.Reddy swimming pool a.k.a Global swim centre, Sankey Tank, Sadashivnagar 

I can vouch for the water quality in each of these three places. They are really good.

I am sorry I forgot to mention about the cost. All of them charge around Rs.16 per swim session which lasts around 40-45mins. I have seen kids train for competitive levels in Jayanagar, but dont know if they entertain beginners/amateurs.

In Jayanagar, you need a special pass for the morning 5-6 slot, I dont remember its price. Its best if you call them up and ask them about it.

One more suggestion, now a days most of the apartments have swimming pools. If any of your friend's apartment has swimming pool then you can take permission from the apartment association to use it by paying something extra. 

Now a days most of the apartments have swimming coaching going on all the time.

Netkallappa swimming pool is the best pool i have seen in south Bangalore, its way better than PM swimming pool and Basvangudi aquatic center

the pool is clean and awesome shower facility, you have to take monthly pass 1500 / Month, coaching is available (i think 3000 / month)

Its very far from my place, I think for me best would be Basavanagudi Aquatic center.
