cycle friendly hotel in mysore and coorg

Are there cycle friendly cheap(er) accomodation (hotel/homestays) in mysore and coorg area?

Mostly just for a day halt

You can check with youth hostel Mysore.

Coorg-Home stays are usually pricey. Look for deals online.

Coorg is a big area no? You/they bike to where the acco is available or  bike to specific town?

Yes. Wanted to pre-book
Close to madikeri or somewhere en route to talacauvery. December is holiday season. Might not be possible to just show up and get something hence asked

Try Linger, Coorg. From Google maps, is close to talacauvery. But not necessarily cheap.

Correct. Good idea to pre-book.

In future, I will try to book before. Most homestays in coorg area are bike friendly anyway. Problem might be in the hotels.

in Internet, search for coorg or kodagu homestays. There used to be website run by Coorg district or something like it.

Had met a person in Virajpet/Gonikoppal, on a tour in 2013.  He said he was involved in organising rides/races in Coorg areas.  He had mentioned he could help with accommodation, as he was quite excited to see someone was doing an unsupported tour in those parts.  I would have thought it was_not that uncommon. :)  Looks like I have lost that person’s name/number, across phone changes... :(.  Maybe you can check on the net re: Tour de Coorg organisers, or something similar, & see if you can get some contacts.  I recall that person saying he owned the HP(?) petrol pump, at Virajpet/Gonikoppal.

I have had fair luck using MMT/Oyo/GoogleMaps-hotels, for locating nice accommodation during rides.  Price range was from Rs700-Rs3000+.

So how was Coorg homestay situation? Did you or anyone go ride and manage to stay in homestay in Coorg?

Generally how is the situation in Coorg, Hassan, Western Ghats and Karavali region homestay situation? Are they all open now?

Looks like I will be visiting Bengalure/Karnataka during Xmas so just wondering if all back to normal there?

Would be nice to do few days ride.

Is there no discount in december or is it not open until January?

Im already in Bengaruru doing the 5 day recommended Indian style quarentine :D and homeoffice which both end on same day

So after that, thinking of going to Bhagamandala - Madikeri Mandalpatti Area, could be before new year also. Nothing is certain though.

Hi DB,

no (I hope) I am not under this as I did not take that route. I have -ve test anyway. planning to do it again and often throughout my stay .

Today, suddenly three  guys showed up in front of my residence and started looking up and down our house and myself. I was like Oh...WTF are they already here to bundle me and take me to some facility!!!?? :)). But they turned out to be Telecom guys came to fix our dead landline phone :DDD

Restriction is something that needs to be monitored. At least I i will bike to mysuru and got some friends/relatives in mysuru madikri hassan etc. Normally I avoid staying there. So will see how all this develops and  if I even go beyond mysuru.
