Teaching adults how to cycle BBS Cubbon Park session 18th May 2025.

Bangalore Bicycling School, Cubbon Park Session, Sunday 18 May 2025

The overnight rain and cloudy morning combined with a fresh breeze gave a welcome respite from the heat, looks like the summer is almost over ! Band Stand was buzzing with a jazz band "Derek and the cats" performing. Few newbies, but lot of ongoing learners today.

Trainers : Ali, Parag, Vinay, Junaid, Harry

Hello : Sunita: On the Cubbon Conservation Committee, reassured her support for continuing BBS program Sunil, a bare foot running enthusiast and triathelate dropped in, to invite for a session elsewhere in couple of weeks..

Newbies :

Digvijay: Indu's husband, had been content to watch from the sidelines last few weeks. Today took the opportuity to refresh his riding skills. We hope he continues to ride.

Lavanya: Dimunitive with divine smile, but hearing impairment, lip reads. Learnt basics, took to sleeping bike mounting initially, scooting with good posture.

Karan: Started off with scooting and was starting to get confidence balancing, was able to balance well by the end of the session, uphill was very challenging for him, his posture needs to improve, overall good performance,

Komal : She managed to scoot with reasonable confidence... should learn to be on by next couple of sessions

Seniors:

Avani: Continued doing zig zags and circles, and attempted figure 8.

Esha: Practiced zig zags and turning today. Learnt half pedalling.

Gayathri : Continued scooting today,and is now able to balance on her own, and did some pedalling too. Good progress..

Hemisha: Progressed to pedaling, needs to work a bit on safe stopping and handle control. Tried half pedalling

Indu: Practiced zig zags and and circles.

Madhu : Eldest learer of the day, made great progress and moved to pedaling. Needs some more practice on turning.

Richa : The smiling cool lady continued with her sheer determination to learn ! Tried a bit of pedaling, but still needs to work on scooting before progressing to scooting.

Shriya: Continued with circles and turns, control is getting better..

Vasumna: Continued with practicing to scoot and dad helped him to pedal uphill.

Viyaan: Had the twisted front ring repaired. Today too had a 'run in' while going downhill...not braking well. needs to improve his control

Veena: The 6 year old was the youngest learner today, unfortunately the rental was closed, and she could not find a cycle to preactice, except a couple of rounds when VIdyuth was kind enough to lend his bike.
