Hello Friends,

Not sure if this is a problem or not. My trek 7100 suspension seat post is shaking from side to side. It does not shake front and back. The post is fairly rigid, am suspecting the spring inside.

Is there anyway to take out the suspension mechanism and fix the seat directly to the post?

Thanks,
Yogesh.

You need to change the entire seatpost. The required dia will be
imprinted on it at the bottom.

Not a problem. Looks like the suspension cap has become a bit loose - its kinda weird that the saddle is shaking side to side and not front and back.

If you remove the seat post and look below the seat post, you will also see how you can tighten the suspension.
Check if tightening that will help.
Also ensure the black cap which fits on the whole spring mechanism is tight.

If none of these work, get it back to BOTS please

Si Signore! I forgot that the Trek-master is on-board :-)

I have already tried tightening the nut underneath the post, that did not help. Will check the black cap tonight.

The saddle is fine in my case and I actually like the stock saddle. The problem was with the seatpost.

I have not been bicycling much in the last 3 weeks (biked 8kms in the 3 weeks!), so have not been able to try Rohan's recommendation yet. Will do that later when I get some time.
