IBM Manyata & EGL commuters : Dedicated parking to be available soon

Hi All,

I have solid information that cycle racks for dedicated cycle parking are being installed at Manyata Embassy Business Park and EGL offices of IBM. How many of you commute to these locations? Lets make up a list of fellow bikers so we can use the dedicated facilities and promote smartcommuting :). If we show our strength in numbers, we might have a chance of requesting for other facilities like showers, more bike racks etc... Let the list begin!

Me too.. I am a daily commuter to Manyata. I work for Alcatel-Lucent (Situated next to the Escape/IBM food court).

We had a small vacant lot (of just about 3-cars-space) evacuated for bicycle parking at the first floor of our parking lot. I fought with our admins/security to get a proper secure parking couple of weeks back. The parking space is now extended and also an additional horizontal steel pole is mounted to wall to lock our bikes. Also the place is now marked by a two-feet tall structure made of wooden board (likey from the huge boxes of packing materials), so that no other vehicle can enter this space.

I feel that MEBP can have provide cycles inside the campus instead of plying those shuttle buses. I feel, shuttles can be replaced by electric cars only to be used by old/needy/handicapped upon request.

If more employees try to experience cycling inside campus, then it will really promote cycling even outside the campus/to commute.

Hi All,

I am Mithun, I work with ANZ at Manyata Tech Park.I have been comuting
to work on my cycle from last 6 months.
There is no bicyle parking @ ANZ. Can you guys assist me in finding a
safe place for Parking.
Is ther any possibility that The SEZ office dedicate parking for
cyclist?

Me(Deepak Patro) commute to 'Target Corporation India Pvt Ltd.',
Manyata Embassy Business Park in cycle...there is a small cycle
parking area in the basement parking lot...but the problem is not
enough space/poles to lock all the cycles...

Hi guys,

I am working in McAfee in EGL. The cycle parking facility is provided
even before I joined in July 2011. It's provided by the company and
not EGL, I suppose.

Slightly off topic.
There is this group for Manyata Tech Park employees. Though there is
hardly any discussion and very few members, biking and related issues
can be raised there as the online community grows.
