A big thanks to Yogesh and others who coordinated the trip.

Personally for me and my son Vedang it was momentous ride as we
completed the first century ride. Overall we completed 150+ km in this
trip. We reached Muthathi at good pace. We started off from Merida
junction at 5:45 AM. We made it to Muthathi at 10:15 AM safely. We had
our breakfast at Kanakapura at a small Idly shop. After Kanakpura we
were joined by the other youngster Praveen (from go green group)
riding all alone (as his father had turn back or something as per
Praveen).

We spent around 45 minutes at Muthathi replenishing with food and
drink. Since this was our first seriously long trip, we decided to
skip the Muthathi to Sathanur climb (we had our own support vehicle).
So we left Muthathi at 11 AM (met Yogesh and group just outside the
place) and reached Sathanur. We started off again from Sathanur and
reached Kanakpura in 45 min. In between Rohan and his group passed us.

After Kanakpura, Rohan and his group flagged us down as one of their
group member was no feeling well. He wanted a drop to Konankunte. We
sent him off in my car. After this the ride has become tougher through
constant gradients. But for my son's motivation and push, i would have
given up much earlier.

We finally reached Bangalore at 4:15 and off we went in our car. My
son still wanted to do a few kilometers, so after KR puram flyover, he
was back on road again. He pedaled another 12 kilometers to reach home
while we followed in the car.

Overall it was an exhausting trip but a satisfying one. I somehow
dragged myself to work today.

I heard about a few crashes in the forum, i hope everybody is safe and
sound.

Happy riding

Wow! Great Job Ravi! It's absolutely awesome see folks from my generation letting their kids try out crazy distances with bicycling.

I am sure Praveen and Vedang's class-mates are not going to believe them when they say that they bicycled 150+kms!!!

BBC'ers, Vedang is 12 and Praveen is 13 years old!!! Sukhdev, our TFN'08 hero who finished 300kms to/fro Mysore now has some serious competition :-) Incidentally both Praveen and Vedang scaled Nandi on their maiden trip during the August mega Nandi ride.

Great job once more!!! I hope that someone from our kids generation actually gets to do TdF some day! What a day it would be to watch the green, white, and saffron flag in the TdF list :-)

Absolutely wonderful stuff..+150 km's by youngsters who are less than
15 yrs old sounds unbelievable..a lot of credit goes to their parents
who encourage their kids to do this..kudos to you parents..my son who
is 6 yrs old is very excited about all the cycling I am into these
days and wants to join me on my rides..I am sure time will pass very
quickly and you will find the father son duo riding together :)

Yogesh..absolutely agree with you..tricolor in Tdf would be a great
sight and I am sure that day is not too far...

Once again, hats off to the kids who pulled this off and to their
parents who are constantly supporting them..keep it going guys :)

Hey Ravi,

That was me you dropped on your car. Just found out your name and did
not even have any other detail to thank you. Stopped for a first
break of loose motion after Kanakpura [imagine holding off all along
the climb :)]. Then again close to Harohalli and this time the stomach
was empty because of Diarrahea. Sun burning down and if riding is not
enough cause of dehydration, I did not want to add to the misery with
my condition and quit my ride FIRST TIME :(

Ravi, thanks a lot for your help, was wondering how much more I might
have to ride to get a vehicle and you helped me out at the right time
and congratulate your son on a great achievement on my behalf.

Looking to do a ride again to Muthathi and back, let me know if
anybody's interested.

Best regards
Shreyas
