Trek 8.2 DS / Schwinn Searcher 4 or Cannondale Quick CX5

Hi all,

I have been researching for a while now and have gone through practically all the articles on the following bikes - although there is content for some like Trek, I hardly seem to find material or reviews for the Searcher 4. 

Do anyone of you have reviews/experience or feedback on the following bikes : 

1. Trek 8.2 DS 

2. Schwinn Searcher 4 

3. Cannondale Quick CX5

I have a related query. While doing the rounds for a compatible 26" wheel rim for my ACT105, I found a store selling an unsold, but new, Schwinn Searcher 2012 model (not sport), hybrid bike with front shocks and shimano Altus rear shifter. For Rs. 18,000.

Firstly, is that a good bicycle from performance and reliability standpoints, and is that a good price?

That store must be Lakshmi Cycles Kateiguppe if i am not wrong. AFAIK that is not 2012 model instead 2011!!

FYI I got the Schwinn Searcher 4 ( AFAIK its the 2013 version - with rear altus and front tourney) .. series from Madiwala RR Cyles.. and so far love it :) Just completed around 70kms on it.. its been a little over a week since i bought it.. will probably post a detailed review with pics and stuff shortly .. :)

Absolutely. That very store. If it is 2011, is Rs18,000 a good or bad price? And how do you know which year's model is it? From the components? Does Schwinn 1/2/3/4 correlate to a corresponding year?

I have been seeing that model since 2011 at the store!! Its black and silver color combination.

Usually the color combination and component is the deciding factor for checking the model of cycle.

This ones the white and green model.. I think the way to figure out the model is to compare the specs with the model number and year in choosemybicycle.com .. and also I dont think the Schwinn Searcher 4 was available in 2012.. I guess it was called Schwinn Searcher Sport or something like that back then..
