Hi,
i am planning to do Manali-leh with a cycling tour organization. Is there any recommendations on a tour company that someone has tried out in the past.
Also looking to see if this is something that is recommended with the popularity of cars & bikes on that route.

Thanks,
Akshat

YHAI has some programs that are fairly economical. Most others are pretty steep.

Manali to Khardungla via Leh is the most popular route. There are many others. You can check their site.

Hi,

I last year I did Manali-Leh-Khardung La with Unventured.

My experience was simply awesome. This is Bangalore based company.

Regards,
Sujit

YHAI is economical... There are several others also at high price point of view. From bangalore I am aware of ICycle and Unventured.

You can connect them for further details. You can ping me for experiences.

Happy Riding 🙂

Thanking you
Regards
Rahul

I was discussing Manali-Leh-KhardungLa cycling options earlier this year, with someone who has done the trip on cycle, & had spent fair amount of time in Leh. They were of the opinion that if one is a reasonably experienced cyclist, one can just do it on their own, following the schedule published on the YHAI website.

Basically, they said you will find accomodation at each designated halt. (I had said I didn't plan to carry camping gear.) There is also consirerable traffic on the route these days. So incase you need assitance (other than some sudden serious eventuality), you will get assitancenin some time. You can hitch a ride with someone if needed.

So you can consider doing the ride yourself, w/o any organised tour.
