In Embassy Tech Village(Bellandur) parking of cycles are along with the two wheelers in underground parking. This itself is very inconvenient as we have to ride close to 1km extra to get there and riding out involves climbing almost two stories on a steep ramp. On top of this today I was stopped at the gate and asked not to use the internal road and instead use the pedestrian path. And pedestrian path involves places where there is no ramp and we have to get off the cycle. And it is also just wide enough for pedestrians.

Who all in the group working in this tech park? Want to make a group and talk to management about these issues.

If not enough insiders available how about the group members working in close by office coming together and protesting in front :). That will be fun.

Interesting complaint! I fought in my office long ago for not allowing me to park in two wheeler parking. You are fight for just the opposite reason LOL

To me, anywhere is fine. In my case, there was no demarcated bicycle parking at that time and hence I used the two wheeler parking. I would love to start out on a couple of ramps. Phoenix mall in Whitefield main road is one such place where we need to climb at least a couple of ramps.

About the width of the road, I typically cut long handle bars. Not to the extent of how Anil (Truck Driver) does. But definitely way shorter than a typical MTB. This makes it a lot more practical and feasible riding in narrow and crowded place.

My thoughts!

Ya, was expecting this from the regular cyclists. Nothing like a steep ramp to warm up for traffic:). But evenings it feels like a pain for me(extremely slow cyclist). But not allowing cyclists on the inside road really irritates.

But was your other parking option covered? Whey did you fight to park in two wheeler area? Any advantages?

It is same pathetic situation in manyata too..  They encourage you to cycle but don't provide a safe or regular cycling stand.. They expect us to just park with the regular cycle park area where there is no provision to lock your bike neither  a stand to support your bike..

No point in forums like these.. Your post will only give us cyclists a subject to talk and drag...

This is one of the main reasons why I quit cycling...  India won't change,  neither our mentality...
Since i totally couldn't stay off cycling.. I bought a mybike with a stand now..

Good to know that you are still on a bike. Yeah, it is not worth worrying about thieves all the time.

Ya, even this tech park has share cycles to ride inside. But doesn't give good parking. Anyway the restriction was only for a day. From next day they were not controlling cyclists using the internal road. Will update if the parking thing improves any time.
