Who wants to do Nandi on Sunday?

Hi Friends,

Can we have people for Sunday-Nandi-Ride?
I missed today's ride. I was supposed to join Murthy, Vishy n all....
Was out at 5:20 AM at the main gate only to find out that my landlord
had changed the lock; and the key was not with me......

I hope this will not happen on Sunday.

I am totally game for it...

MTB friends! we can give it a try.......it's very difficult to keep
pace with the Roadbikers :)....there are couple of road bikers who are
going on Sunday...we can follow them.....

I know Deepak Rao, Murthy (for the 2nd time this week) and I (Arvind)
are on for the Nandi Sunday ride.
Deepak and I will be starting at 6 am sharp from Hebbal Flyover.
All of us are on road bikes.

Hi All
So we had 5 riders rendezvous at Hebbal Flyover at about 6 am (thanks
deepak for making it in good time :) )
Deepak - Trek 1.5
Murthy - Venky's Colnago
Amy - Merida 20 MD
Brijesh - Hero Thunder ( did I get that right)
Me (Arvind) - Merida 905

The road bikers (Deepak, Murthy and I) completed the ride in exactly
6
hrs. Riding time was approx 4 hrs to 4 hrs 30 mins. We saw Brijesh do
the whole ride to the top without any stops on his mountain bike
(very
impressive). We met George on his roadbike at the top of Nandi. It
was
a good ride although the heat and the headwind on the way back did
make life difficult for a bit.


Amy and Brijesh - pls post your ride experience too.


Murthy and I plan to do Nandi again on the 24th. Anyone interested
pls
do join us.

We did something out of the box...can you imagine a biker loading his
bike on a BIAL-Volvo on the way back home??????
Yes the headwind was even worser than what you guys must have
experienced......we were riding back home...after reaching Devanahalli
Road, the ride became very difficult..there is no plantation on either
side of the road....we decided to load our bikes on a Volvo and reach
MG Road. So we did that....once we boarded the bus I faced the most
funny question of my life...one passenger asks.."are you guys from
India?"...people were checking out our bikes......

we got down near Golf Course and then started pedaling again.....so
the gist of the story is ...We took rest in an AC bus for 20
minutes.....pretty cool..AIN'T IT?

Anyways, coming back to the spirit of the ride.....it was a good
experience to meet all of you including George whom I met at the base
of Nandi......I will never forget Brijesh..this guy has some stamina
mAAAn!!! came to know he has done 2 Enduro events in Pune. a real
trekking lad! Brijesh, you are a real MTBer!

I found it an extremely uphill task to climb nandi on my bike...the
last 3 kilometres took my ass off.....so I had to do Duathlon.....deep
in my mind I had the determination that I had to achieve the
height...I got some energy out of Murthy's Comment.."Man, you can do
it..try doing a 1:1"...Murthy has an amazing team spirit. we all have
to agree on that.
