Teaching adults how to cycle BBS Cubbon Park session 11th May 2025

Bangalore Bicycling School, Cubbon Park Session, Sunday 11 May 2025

The hot summer continued, with heavy humidity ! Band Stand melodious with a bhule bisare geet song performance. We had a record number of students today.

Trainers : Ali, Parag, Vinay,Junaid,Harry

Hello : Annapoorni (our eldest learner) with her Family, Satya and some of the relief riders

Newbies :

Avani: Had cycled as a child, so was quick to pick up the basics, and move all the way to doing zig zags and circles.

Jyoti: Kabirs mom started with scooting and made good progress going downhill.

Gayathri : Came towards the end , and did some scooting

Manassu: She was a complete newbie, could not reverse pedal in the beginning but grasped basics and started scooting.

Madhu : Eldest learer of the day, practiced scooting and made good progress going downhill.

Michael: Arrived when too much was going on, but seen balancing well so perhaps refreshing skills rather than true newbie. and will need to be checked for, about safety drill in the next session

Veena: The 6 year old was the youngest learner today, and tried to scoot downhill.

viraj : Got lost in the Cubbon Park so landed late.. Has difficulty with co ordination, but learnt getting on the saddle using 'sleeping bike' method .. Pranika was generous to lend her bike !

Seniors:

Ananya:Continued with scooting,and then progressed t pedaling downhill, needs a bit more practice.

Dilip: Came with a rental bike and practiced one handed riding to repare for turning and signaling.

Esha: Practiced zig zags and turning today.

Geshna : Tushara's younger sister, continued pedaling today.

Indu: Practiced zig zags and turnig and circles.

Kabir: A sensitive and unpredictable child but still coming to the session so hopefully will start getting interested. Hoping for the best !

Pranika: The brave 6 year old came to practice today, despite being bitten by a stray dog two weeks ago. She is turning too fast. Did zig zagging

Prachiti: Continued with circles, and started with hand signaling.

Richa : The smiling cool lady continued with her sheer determination to learn ! Tried a bit of pedaling, but still needs to work on scooting before progressing to scooting.

Shriya: Continued with circles and turns.

Vasumna: Continued with practicing to scoot.

Viyaan: The 9 year old chess prodigy was a bundle of energy, and came with cool glasses and a helmet today, had a crash downhill with the front ring damage, but he himself was fine. Needs to control better.

Tushara : Continued with scooting for a bit, and then progressed to pedaling downhill.
