Hi Friends..

First post here..

I was looking for something less than 5k. But, i understood it is not
possible to get under that. Reason is simple. everyone is buying and
ready to pay what ever they ask for ...

So.. I had to extend my range to 6.5k

Want to use it for exercise .. I do have up hill area in my place
(Yes.. Bangalore, we do have places like that)... So, i thought of a
Geared one...

I am 6feet 2 Inches.. and wanted to buy one which suits me..

From many post here, I found that disc's are having problems. So, No
to disc brakes. (I would have extended my range more if i didnt read
this group before)

I said no to hero, as many said it is poor in quality...

Now.. I am in a stage of finalizing out of two,,,

One is https://www.ticyclesindia.com/productfeatures.asp?pid=214
(Atom-18 Speed costs around 5700 ->bangalore with bill)
Other one is https://www.ticyclesindia.com/productfeatures.asp?pid=26
(Ryder's Act 104 -18speed costs around 6800 - with bill)

So, which one should i go for?? Atom or Ryder's Act 104?

Since this is the first time, and i dont have any experience with
cycling, I really need your input..
If you are suggesting some other model, please dont suggest any model
which costs more than 6800- Yes, that is the max I can spend !!

Hope to hear from you all soon !! I would be buying tomorrow if i get
suggestions...

Thanks again
Rajesh Kumar

Hi Rajesh,

If you can push your budget a little more (say 7-7.5k), you can go for hercules act 110S, a very nice looking bike with many features. I own hercules 110 plus and am very satisfied with the bike. 110 itself got good reviews from many people and the main difference between 110 and 110S is the steel frame of the latter.

Check out the following link if you are interested

Not only the steel frame, but the gears too are different. 110 comes with Trigger Shift and 110S has Grip Shift.

I bought ACT110 two months ago, doing 26kms every day commute to work. It was 9.5k then, now it is 10.6k, don't know the reasons though.

Even I was looking into ACT 104, but this comes with shocks and I understand from various forums that, shocks of these low cost bikes are just an added weight to pull on but add nothing to riding comfort.

Also, I think ACT110 may not very well suit a tall guy like you....best is to test ride a couple of cycles and finalise on the one that you are comfortable with.

Cheers,
Siva

Thanks guys for your replies..
I think since i am new here, My reply gets posted much after (still
waiting for the previous one i posted yesterday)..
That happens when someone come and shout ..

I have finalized on ACT 105 after consulting many including Go Green
Rao..
I got nice inputs from Nalla P Konar (whom i disturbed by sending
email all nights and had patience to reply back)
Girish V, who found time even from office to answer my big doubts
(silly ones for you guys).... and people who replied back in various
threads...

Finally i got one in my price range.. I may think of upgrading it
later. Let me start with this..

Thanks everyone in the group for allowing me to post these queries....

Thanks and Regards

No probs dude, you are welcome,
i was just sharing the gyan i learnt from experts here when i was in similar situation before :)

ACT 105 seem to be a good bike in its price range, had a quick look at TI website. Prabhakar Rao made a good suggestion. He will also help in getting discounts, dude is pretty famous in bikers community and also shops :)

Rgds,
Nalla.
