Teaching adults how to cycle BBS Cubbon Park session 09 Nov 2025

Bangalore Bicycling School, Cubbon Park Session, Sunday 9 Nov 2025

A hot and sunny day, thankfully with a breeze. The Bandstand had a Vocal performance. Taking the cycles out of the parking area was an interesting challenge, as we were blocked by Generator trucks, we had to lift the cycles up over the truck bed to other side. Some good teamwork happenned there, with Ali humming "Saathi Haath Badhana.." as cycles were passed up and down from hand to hand. Fortunately, keeping them back was a little easier !

Hello: Abhinav and Dad Krishnamurthi

Newbies :

Alex : Man in hurry, struggled to get through the safety routine. On to pedalling.

Dayansh : Bespectacled young lad came with his dad, was scooting well

Harshita- The Data analyst from Deloitte drives a 4 wheeler, and started with scooting and then moved on to pedaling. Uphill was with some lurching but impressive start

Sonika : Introduced by Nadia, had cycled during childhood and quickly went up to pedalling. Stopping safely needs to be looked at.

Shreerupa : A practising psychologist and teaches as well. Learnt how to pedal quickly

Ongoing Learners:

Gopika- Continued scooting for a while, did pedaling downhill, and half pedaling uphill.

Nadia- started scooting, felt scared at first, but after many tries, she became confident and balanced herself.

Reena: Continued pedaling as and when she got a cycle free, as other learners got priority.

Sairah -The Financial Controller from JPM continued with scooting and half-pedaling, and began to pedal, uphill was a bit of a challenge but managed to do it.

Salma- Super enthusiastic as usual, rode a few rounds. Needs to keep doing basic stuff like safe mounting, and braking.

Shweta - Continued with scooting , is able to hold the feet up for longer intervals now, and then did a bit of pedaling too.

Shashwath - Worked on scooting with help from Ganesh, and was able to scoot well by the end of the session.

Shashwath Senior : Came after almost a year. took off after doing some drill, probably on his own .

Surabhi- Continued with circles while on a slope, trying to get a clean short turn wth figure 8, and ready to try signaling.

Siddharth- Came with his own cycle and fixed the gears with help from Ganesh, and continued pedaling.
