Hi all,
I am new to cycling and I want to buy a bike. My requirements and constraints are:
1) Range less than 16K(strict.. :-) )
2) Daily commuting to office (20Kms to and fro) in bangalore
3) Not sure i will ever go for trekking or long distance
4) I am heavily built, height is 5'8'' and 94 Kgs.

Shortlisted two candidates
1) Rockrider 5.0 10K
2) Firefox target  16K

My personal view of the above two bike.
Rockrider looks to be more sturdier, a bit of heavy, and driving wise it is normal. I have not encountered a single negative comment about it, regarding the durability. Which i like most.

Firefox target, driving wise it is very smooth and requires less effort to push, I become a fan of this after driving this.
But from  the reviews i feel that it is not so durable and sooner or later, one will start facing issues related to pedals and seat....

I want a good ride what firefox target gives, but it should be as sturdy as rockrider 5.0.

Rockrider 5.2 also has a smoother ride but it will cost 24k.

Please help, should i go ahead and buy rr 5.0.

Thanks
Pranav

At that price range, you'd be better off looking for a used mountain bike than basic entry level bikes. Search on the forums for Rockrider 5.2, Merida 20/40, KHS Alite and suchlike.
