Totally.. I've kinda left out cheaper from my list of needs:) a triple chain ring too :) but how good is the fork? Should i upgrade it to a carbon fork l8r?

Now i'm getting spoilt for choices :).
I'l take my time, my share of test rides n buy the btwin i guess. No matter how good or bad components are, btwin puts them together awesomely well.

Ot- But the saddest part is i dint cycle to office today cuz of my damn cold. Saw so many cyclists on the road and was so jealous!

Lucky pigs all of u.

Shankar

Subject: Re: [BBC] B Twin Road bikes in stores now !!!!!!!!

the whole bike is made of aluminium alloy,(mostly i think), none of the part
is carbon fibre, but still great considering the price...upgrading to carbon
fibre fork i think may not be great idea,as the bike
overall(frame, components, wheels) is itself not that high high end, meaning
upgrading(like fork) is not worth if the whole bike is not of certain
level,ALSO, it would make better sense if you could instead,at a later
point, sell the bike as is and then buy a better carbon forked roadbike, IF
you feel the need ever that is..this bike is a first timers' roadbike, beats
all other competition dead cos of its quality to price ratio,AND will have
high resale value...
Actually it does not have competition,as its the cheapest bike with the
gear/brake integrated lever, and also overall a proper traditional
roadbike...cos the la urabano/fomas aren't roadbikes at all...oh forgot,KHS
roadbikes come very close..check it out at venky's store...

2 shameless plugs for this bike:
* Sharath completed TFN'09 on this bike and finished pretty strongly
on several days.
* Suntosh Kumar recently did a tour from Paris to London on this bike.

So, looks like guys are doing pretty long distance rides on this bike.

Hi sriram, you have answered everything I was actually thinking of asking the group. One doubt though, why do you say urbano isn't a proper roadbike? Can you elaborate bit more on that comparison for roadbike novices?

Whoa! When did sriram say Urbano isn't a proper roadbike? That's
heresy. That's an awesome bike as well. Ashish Bhardwaj and Pankaj
Chuladara ride Urbanos. Both are excellent riders.

You have KHS as an option around this price range ! Ya you have models

Now that is a first (Urbano not being a proper road bike and I being
an excellent rider).
How do you define a proper road bike?
Drop bars, 53/39 chainring, 12/23 cassette, 700cc tires, rigid forks,
race frame (compact though).

It has all of the above.

Cheers
Pankaj
