Be careful in the long ghat sections especially when u r riding downhill . Take frequent breaks and may be reduce the tube pressure to avoid blasts due to extreme braking.

How r u carrying all your stuff? The cheapest option is to hook up your back pack on the rear rack with cargo net.

Not sure whether it's wise to carry spare spokes, chain links, screws etc just in case. Or atleast have backup plans.

Very shameful, but not shocking any more. Incidents like this are a daily
affair in this country. Every morning at least a few like this in the
    morning papers.

If I were a westerner, I would leave India out of any cycling itinerary.

Am hoping that Indians are safer, especially in south India.

Wifey and me are planning to do some cycling in Coorg this month end.

Planning not to venture in the dark and keep pepper spray at hand. Any
    other precautions to take?

Not a single day passes when such a shameful incident doesn't
happen...right now today's TOI (website) is showing four such incidents -
of rapes, of escapes from rapes, of death of a girl who was molested
earlier - and then this news.

As a nation we're a colossal failure on women's security. Shame.

Was wondering why we use Nitrogen, so googled and came up with this site...
    http://getnitrogen.org/why/

Think about it - if you keep topping up the tyre with a pump, and the
Oxygen and water vapour escape faster than nitrogen, then you will end up
with higher levels of nitrogen in the tyre anyway.

Ok - fill nitrogen and tyre pressure will presumably last longer - however,
business case seems weak, since hunting for a nitrogen walla and spending
Rs.50/- seems a runaround - instead 2-3 minutes of exercise with the pump
before a ride seems perfectly fine.

    Individual choice of course.

I can understand. Is it possible we do GoGreen Endurance ride and it starts
from freedom park ? I feel, our go green rides may have more meanings
    adding to the cause.
Doing this, We can support BALACHANDER K RAJPUT who has traveled 20,000KM
in 10 Months just to spread awareness about Jan Lokpal and now will be
riding with us tomorrow. He deserves a few more people turning up for the
cause and keep his spirit up.
    My two pens.

I got this at a medical shop for 65/- or 75/- so for sure they are charging
you a lot more. Additionally I'm not very impressed by it. It can stop some
dust but don't think its effective against SPM or other pollutants.
