Friends,
My tires are marked 47-622 and 28X1.75. I currently have
continental city contact tires and tubes that came stock with the
bike. The valve is Schrader type. Some websites say that I will need
700 x 45C, while others say that a tube marked as 700 x 35 can fit all
the way up-to 700 x 45. Amazon has several tubes marked 700 x 35-45.
Decathlon has 700 x 35 size
(http://www.decathlon.in/CYCLE-TIRES-AND-INNER-TUBES-INNER-TUBE700X35-SCHRADER).
Will this size fit my tire?

Thanks,
Surya

For all gyaan u'll need on tyre sizing, refer http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html

U'll need something that's rated for something close to 47.

U can get away with putting a 35, cos all tubes expand till they are stopped by the tyre wall. But, if you get a flat and patch it up, the patch wont expand like the tube, and will pop when you try to inflate the tube. (I had faced it with putting a 18-25 roadie tube into a 35 hybrid tyre)

I have the same tire size (28X1.75) and was also looking for 700X47C
tube. Decathlon has 700X43C at their shop (visited the shop on
Saturday) and BumsOnTheSaddle has 700X45C (talked to Rohan couple of
days back).
