Hero Ranger Swing - Bike racks and brakes?

Are there bike racks available for Hero Ranger Swing kind of bikes which do not have a triangular frame? If so, can the same rack be used for other bikes should I upgrade later this year? How do judge the compatibility of racks to bikes? I have a Santro car and would require a rack for the same.

Additionally, I am really unhappy with the braking system on the bike. I invariably have to tighten them once every two weeks or less. If I am not mistaken they have a traditional cantilever braking system. Is there a good fix for that? The cycle repair guy I consulted said that changing the braking system to V or disc brakes was not an option or would be money ill spent and that I would better off upgrading.

I wanted to continue on this bike for a while longer before thinking of upgrading.
