To all those riding small-wheeled (20"/BMX/406mm bsd rims) on this
forum, what tyres do you use? Where do you get them from?

I've been looking at Schwalbe Kojaks, but would like a wider tyre if possible.

Bike came with Kenda Kwests (1.5"), so any opinion on those is also appreciated.

Thanks!

GreenSpeed Scorcher 1.5 x 20" (406)

Awesome tyres. Feel like high quality road tyres, though Sandeep has not been happy with them. I got them for my BF.

Which bike are you looking for?

Thanks! I knew the BF owners would have some info :) Seems to be
exactly what I was looking for. The bike is a BikesDirect Nano
Mini-Velo. Here's a pic: <http://imgur.com/HZ5JCJB>. Bike *might* take
upto 1.75", but I'm happy with 1.5".

I was also told GoCycle tires are very nice, but they can't be sold
outside the UK.

Duh, I knew that you had that bike. Just slipped my mind. Anything in particular that you dont like with the stocks?

Those Kojaks look like nice tyres but yes, with small wheels 1.35 might be too thin for comfort.

Scorchers are available on the BF site. How much are the Kojaks for?

They were very good(what I had for the tour) until they cut a few cuts from shattered vehicle glass on a city road, and then all attempts to rescue them were useless. Finally switched to Marathon Greenguards and am riding without a punture kit.

Primo Comets were what were stock on our BF. Not so great reviews, and that's why we upgraded to Scorchers.

Yup, I know about your experiences. Marathons and me will never see eye to eye though. Just too heavy.

Kenda Kwests seem a bit heavy, but at least to me, they seemed to roll
okay at about 60psi, but I have very little experience with high-end
tyres. That's why I wanted to try out some high-end "supple" tyres.

Kojaks is £11 at Evans, which seems a very good price for a good tire.
It requires about 6 bar before rolling resistance becomes low.

Marathon Racers are also hugely recommended by people (not
Marathon/Marathon Plus, etc.), since they're lightweight, but the
Kojak rolls faster in tests. I think the Racer is a new model. They're
priced at 3xKojak.

I encountered a nice review of recumbent tires some time ago, let me
dig that up and post a link.

Hey  Sree,

BTW, there's a Greenspeed Duro as well:
<http://greenspeed.com.au/duro.htm> which fares pretty nicely in the
tests.

Another set of reviews (just to get an idea of what all options are available):

Kind of off topic but I need some stuff from evans. Lemme know if we can club orders to get free/cheaper shipping.

Sure. However, in a severe liquidity crunch now that should ease off
in a few weeks, so don't wait for me.
