Hi all,

First brevet ride was organised flawlessly. Thanks to all volunteers
and brevet director.

I did my first 50km without any break. Took a small water break an
started again. Next 35km Ramanagar to Maddur was highlight of my
ride.
Got good rhythm and maintained an average about 30km/hr in my trek 7.1
fx. Over took a lorry at 42km/hr on a flat terrain, which was a
surprise to me.
I am more tempted to buy raod bike after this.

Wanted to maintain the same rhythm till first stamping point @ 110km..
rode without taking break. Didnt have break fast. Had cramped my thigh
muscle around 95km mark. Stopped for tender cocunut and took some
rest. As some body had mentioned earlier in a thread, recovery from
cramp was very slow. Started and rode till 110km mark, reached around
10 am. I was not able to stand properly at stamping point because of
cramps. But happy with my effort 110km @ 4 hrs flat of cycling time.

On the return stopped @ mandya for break fast, still not completely
recovered from cramps. Had to stop at maddur to have lunch and also to
recuperate. After this break ,cramps were ok. There was pain when i
tried to push myself in ascents. Had to take it slow. Last 20km was
a killer.. hot sun..knee pain.. had to endure everything to finish the
ride. Completed the ride @ 430 pm.. Good learning for me, in terms of
cramps and recovery.

At time stations all volunteers welcomed with a smile... a great
gesture after waiting for long duration of time.

Thanks to sagar and shankaran for the company.

Regards
Senthil.K
